I love the fact that many accept we are the only ones "under-reporting" :emoticon-0100-smile
Were all these posters that are up in arms about Dominic Cummings, the same when Labour MP’s have been caught out flaunting the rules?

Which kind of muddies the water with the whole article then. Isn't that what some were saying a few weeks ago. Funny how things change when it suits the agenda ;)

Mate you and some others believe the government has done no wrong. Some others, myself included believe they were irresponsible in some respects, particularly the treatment of the elderly in care homes. What else is there left to say? Nice of you to post though, haven't seen you on here in a week. You weren't away in Durham were you? <whistle>

I'm sure it's somehow England's fault though, perhaps the old people have been dying in England and they've been shipped up to Jockland as quick as possible and launched through windows.

You ****ed up right there mate, i have posted many times on this thread that the government killed us/ ****ed up majorly in the first six weeks and could never pull that back.

The whole care home thing is very mis-leading and emotional, we happen to have a very high proportion of folks in care homes because (unlike others) we can't be arsed looking after them ourselves.
That said, once a care home becomes infected it spreads like wildfire because of the situation and health of the people in them.

Yeah we are definitely under-reporting. If we believe any other country is though then we have the mindsets of racists :emoticon-0140-rofl:

It's pretty well established that the UK is the centre of everything evil on planet earth.

I stand corrected on the first part, just seems you've never seen a balance for and against since then. You may argue neither have I. Like with most things it's not absolute. When it comes to care homes some of it is misleading, some of it is very true and damning. Agree about that bit in bold <ok>

That is one hell of a sweeping judgement.

Some people do not want to be looked after by their children as they feel like a burden.

Others can't be cared for in their own home cos services such as meals on wheels and home helps no longer exists due to 30 to 40 years of cuts to social services budgets by every government in my life time from 11 onwards.

Some people simply do not have the room to have their parents move in with them.

Many no longer live near their parents (as used to happen pre the 1980s ) as communities dispersed around the country for a variety of reasons.

Some people simply do not have extended families and some are estranged from their families due to their behaviour as parents in the past.

I'm sure that there are probably some that can't be "arsed" but to lump every one in that category seems more than a bit harsh imho.
