Don't worry after the press hounding it will be better than ever!!

It will go back up, but I very much doubt this will not make a long term negative impact

People including posters on here have been blaming the government for weeks for taking attention away from the important news... then do it themselves with Cummings!

Yes, I think there has been a change of attitude. And the fact is this bloke and his wife have been ill, they've had a son that's been ill, so even if the public are not entirely comfortable with how Cummings dealt with things, he's not the devil incarnate and should not be hounded by the press. Press hounding took a big downturn in the public's conscience after Caroline Flack.

I suspect the whole affair will push Boris down in the polls. It's uphill for him now to regain confidence.

Yeah but with Cummings on board (a proven winning for Brexit/Election) I am sure they will bounce back.

It’s obviously about a lot more than simply that he broke lockdown rule. You aren’t that thick.

The irony is that he'll get rid of a lot of dead wood at the top of the civil service that the Left is presumably against anyway. Who want a lot of middle class fat cats living at the taxpayer's expense unless they're worth their money?

I just think it disgusting the way the media are attacking him and his family. I also think others have probably done worse than him and no one cares. Furthermore that this story is distracting from the important news. Really, Watford, you are sounding like some winging radical who can't get his own way. Move on because no one will care in a few weeks.

You have a questionable set of morals if that’s the part of the story you get upset about. It was silly of the press to cede that bit of the moral high ground for you to pretend to be upset about.

A commentator said basically the same yesterday. He also said The press don't like him and the opposition fears him.
This is what it's all about Goldie. I said a while back that the Guardian was after him.

Yes, the press won't stop. If they think he's wounded, they'll try and finish him off. He'll have to tread carefully from now on
