Minor miracle nobody killed on the ground.

Goes to show no matter what the catastrophe, the bankers always survive.

I noticed when I was looking up the story, that they didn't appear to have very good safety record.

I'm not understanding at the moment why the pilot chose to fly round again, he acknowledged engines were out, he had both runways clear and to choose from, then dropped the thing on a residential area. It appears the undercarriage hadn't came down, so air traffic control wanted to know if he was going to do a belly landing - did he not know the wheels were not down, and made a fatal decision on being given that fact.

You should know these things <whistle>

Would you belly flop it or go round a second time, without engines, incase the wheels mysteriously reappear. What's the Pakastani logic on this type of thing :bandit:

Whereas my thick English logic, would've just dropped it there and then, while ejector seating myself to safety, only then remembering i ain't got a parachute.

    My Pakistani logic says

‘let’s go for belly flop brother...this baby made out of metal...no problem’

I would have gone round for another circuit to reduce height and airspeed. Coming down on the belly without brakes is much better from 30 feet than 100.

Shame there was a tower crane in his path though, he maybe didn't know that until he saw it because it's not a usual height restriction.

Edit............before some smartarse corrects my figures, the 30 and 100 foot were purely comparative. I have no idea what a planes usual approach/landing heights are or what the rate of descent is at that point.

I've looked into it thoroughly... it would appear there was this plane ... and then there wasn't ...

... now we just await a gif blaming it on Kier Starmer <whistle>
