I was fortunate enough to have BUPA through work when I had my op, so it was a private room at the Royal Brompton ... they were brilliant ... in fairness, I'm sure the NHS ward there was just as good ... certainly the same surgeon and clinicians ... the big difference was the speed from diagnosis to op and the aftercare ... the food was really good, I just didn't have much of an appetite <cheers>

We had a drum kit and bagpipes a few doors down from us - I kid you not

No fireworks or any of that old bollocks round here last night. A bit more muted, maybe people are losing enthusiasm; or maybe just the dickheads are, leaving the decent people to clap politely. Like we do in this country when we’re not completely pissed.

****it, who am I kidding? This is England, at any given moment at least half of us are always completely pissed. Still, even pissed people can clap with dignity.

Told you that dodgy disabled badge was a good investment.
err certainly at my hospital blue badge holders have to pay in fact its worse as if like me you are in a chair you can't use a normal space ( unless at end of row ) so just have to go early and hang about until a disabled parking space becomes vacant which means you spend extra time in the car park so being charged .

and yes i know you were taking the piss . .

Sunniest spring season on record in the UK.

This spring looks like being the sunniest season on record, sunnier than many previously recorded summers despite having fewer hours of daylight.

"In April, 60.3% of the daylight hours were sunny, reaching a total of 250.9 hours of sunshine for the month and making it the sunniest April recorded. Only four other months have ever surpassed 60%, and these all occurred between May and August.

This is partially due to having less pollution in the air, reducing the aerosols that help clouds form.

A covid-19 bonus maybe?

Just got home and it's scorching out there. Quite depressing actually.

And probably only a temporary bonus unfortunate, read somewhere that a survey was done of non car owners and over half said they planned on buying a car once this is all done.

Unfortunately none of the positive aspects of any of this (yes, there are some) will actually go in and stay in for most people, in fact they won't even see them as positives, they'll just go back to being the mindless drones they've always been
