@Treble following on from last night, i had my hospital appointment today, and they were bang to guidelines, I was very impressed;
The section of the hospital I needed to be in, you couldn't enter, until the nurse physically accompanied you in. You are then told EXACTLY where to sit, awaiting, for the next nurse to come and collect me. When you leave, you have to be escorted out by a nurse as well. Masks are worn by whoever your nurse is, new screens have been fitted at the main desk, and you are invited to use hand gel at each stage of the process.
If going in to surgery, you have to self isolate for 14 days, and within 48-72 hours of that occuring you will be required to attend the same hospital for a covid test.

That's far too efficient for us. Was going to ask if this hospital you went to was in Frankfurt or summnt
Seriously though that sounds very good. I spoke to a parent today who told me her 5 year old has been called in for a botox injection in her leg (pre existing condition). They will have to sedate her. Mum was in a panic on the phone basically worried two fold - firstly the procedure itself on her little girl but also the coronavirus risk. Her daughter has also had heart complications at a young age. I hope she has the same experience you did tbh.

I know some will be upset by the source and feel an instant need to dismiss but this is an interesting read about how other countries protected care homes and learned lessons from SARS.

Sorry?So why did the private care home not instigate it?
It's good to see they're happening as well. A lot of ops were put on hold but it looks like NHS can free up capacity to deal with other illnesses now.
The NHS did a deal with private hospitals to take over some of the routine operations for them, notably Spire group.Funny you should say that, I had a phone call when I got home, I'm being referred to a private hospital - not sure what that's all about. The hospital I went to I've never seen the car park so quiet, normally it's rammed packed.
