Are you kidding me??? This is disgusting. I would rather we kept playing some of the kids as opposed to an aged payer who will offer us nothing

The reactions a little OTT. He's only being brought in because we're desperately short on strikers. It's not like he's the actual Carroll replacement

I'm more worried about what Harper's going to do once he finds this Kuqi

Let's face it he's not gunna play anyway, and if he does and scores we get his mint celebration! My guess would be that cause Ewerthon is still only 29, he would want more than just a four-month contract which I'd assume is the most we'd offer.

The people who are complaining now, did you also moan when Pavel Srníček came in to cover Given's injury?

This is pretty much the same situation. An old head to provide backup to a depleted squad. A former international striker for free and probably quite low wages (was last at Swansea) for a few months.

His hold-up play is good and he's a big man. He gives us something different coming off the bench.

I personally would rather Kuqi til the end of the season than Alialiere who I've heard is a bit of a moaner. Kuqi is far from prolific but has scored as many goals in the last two years as Ali has in his entire career!

This isn't Carroll's replacement, realistically he's Xisco's temporary replacement. Still mad?

good point Mod Face, i think we have to realise this is a real short term thing and who knows what he can do from the bench. He seems to be well thought of in some parts. I'm a bit disappointed Airey etc ain't getting a chance but lets just see what this old gun can do?

true we need numbers but i saw the heskey but not as good bit and that was it for me... gotta give him a chance i suppose nowt better for free out there

Just phoned a good friend of mine who is a Swansea season ticket holder. He wrote 'I really liked him, he'd run and run and run, gave the defenders loads of problems even though a little clumsy on the ball, but we were sad to see him leave'

Make of that as you wish!

he is ****ing ****, but people saying we should be playing youth are wrong.
its obvious the youth arent ready/ not good enough yet.
im sure if they were better options they wud play, we not gonna sign this granny for no reason

Some Swansea fan on talk sport said he was totally useless. Not encouraged did alright for Blackburn a few years back.

Might aswell give the bloke a chance, aslong as hes used a last resort behind Best, Ranger, Lovenkrands and Shola I really dont mind at all, its better having a striker than potentially no striker at all, I'd imagine we will be signing him till the end of the season and hopefully he will do off and we will put that 30 million to work.

I just hope for once Ashley isnt talking utter **** and will actually give the money to Pardew.

I think it's a good move.

Ewerthon reportedly wanted big money and a longer contract, rather than short term with the option to stay if he proves himself.

Kuqi has signed a 4 month contract, he'll warm the bench, be backup and competition for Ranger & Best. He's an experienced international & journeyman, so can maybe help in training with the younger lads.

He's also a grafter and a worker, rather than a temperamental prima donna. Which will fit with our dressing room ethos.

Also, sometimes you can get the unexpected - remember Sibierski?
