Growing up in Tottenham with my mates, they all having "cockney accents, I was asked why I didn't sound like them.My sister told them that I always talked "BBC",whatever the hell that is/was.
I remember reading about Leslie Phillips growing up in Tottenham and his mum spending a fortune on ellocutions lessons for him......
I always worked in office jobs while my mates had to work for a living!!!! Maybe that was it.

Which reminds me....students at schools in the USA all dress in gowns and mortar boards at graduation. At my secondary modern school,at graduation, the headmaster put the toe ofhis boot up our butts and told us to "get to work!"

I remember watching Dusty Springfield on stage at Edmonton take offSandy with imitation bare feet. Good concert that! Bloody long time ago!

I always think of good music (not great) as music that actually still gets played on a regular basis on the radio decades after it was produced.
