    If this government reported the weather, they'd be talking about the great British summer with 15m degrees temperature because that's the heat of the sun. The temperature that we actually feel would be subtly ignored.

    Personally I reckon Laura Kuenssberg everytime she asks a question to the PM or a Minister is doing a job interview to do PR for the Tories.

    Whilst I bloke I cannot usually stand Piers Morgan is doing a job by putting the govt on the spot.

    Of course the govt is not at fault for covid 19 (although it is an open question how complicit the Chinese govt. is).

    Nor is the govt at fault that a vaccine or therapeutics are not available.

    My questions are, following on from several exercises as how to prepare and to respond to a pandemic...

    Whose policy was it not to have a stockpile of PPE, but to rely on 'just in time' supplies from overseas? Also not to have UK suppliers to step up? This policy has killed health workers!

    I cannot see how it would have been costly to have arranged for govt, NHS, universities and private labs etc to be able to spring into action for mass testing and contract tracing. This failure had cost lives.

    Whose bright idea was it to go for 'herd immunity' rather that instant and strict lockdown with contract tracing, this has cost lives.

    It is the responsibility of a free press to ask tough questions of govt particularly in life and death situations.

    Hopefully an inquiry will be held after this and lessons learnt...?

    Agreed - the mainstream media has been absolutely dreadful these last few weeks and in particular the questions they pose during the Downing Street daily briefing. I watch these most days but cringe at some if not most of the questions the media ask. The questions by the general public have added a much needed bite - lets get rid of that bumbling prick Peston and nauseating Kunnesberg (BBC) and Ridge (Sky) - more questions from the General Public please.

    Those daily briefings remind me of when I used to watch Banzai;
    Boris "shake hands man" Johnson and Laura "lady one question" Kuenssberg

    I agree with almost all of that. The government have also done a very good job regarding the furlough situation as well in my view. But I see know issue at all in asking for the answers to explain the problems we've faced.

    The only part I disagree with is on Piers Morgan. The more I watch of him, the more I just see him creating more of a divide. Not only is he not getting any answers (which isn't entirely his fault), but he's shouting and talking down to people which is actually making people sympathise with them. To give a completely less important parallel, it's like Di Canio's management here. Yes, he shouted, demanded answers and spotted that the players were failing which fans wanted, but his approach was so aggressive that it was never going to allow for a constructive solution to be found. Morgan might see that some of the government are bluffers, but shouting at them and calling them incompetent has never and will never get them to open up. He's just point scoring.

    Yep the new chancellor is looking good...these Goldman Sachs junior partners (£2m a year?) Are not stupid, married billionaire's daughter so presumably could give up his high paid job.
    Of course it could be he looks competent because most of the other ministers are clueless. So yes he seems on top of his brief..and speaks well..
