Should the football season be cancelled and declared null and void?

The asterisk just means we smashed the league 25pts ahead with 9 to play. Obviously anyone saying anything different is bitter and hates Liverpool fc. I geddit I'd be the same, null and void if utd were in our position. Of course, but I'd still know deep down they obliterated all before them.

All good for me, do the same as France if need be.

So who we angry at the pl? Liverpool fc or just astro?

Me personally? I'm annoyed with the league itself for its ridiculous insistence that we complete the games when it's really not suitable to do so.

It's nothing to do with you lot, just might seem that way as you've all got more reason to want it completed than most.

My Utd supporting friend always puts fifty quid on Liverpool winning the league at the start of the season to soften the blow if they ever did it.
Awkward

1) You and your emotive language mate, I assume it's intentional? If they were hypothetical then I wouldn't have referenced them. Just off the top of my head people who aren't interested in football generally and also people like me (Newcastle), Libby (Southampton), fans of lower league clubs (there's threads on the Sunderland board - they are a club who would very much benefit from finishing the season and yet they are of the view it should just be called off). I honestly can't think of a poster who thinks going back is a sensible idea whose team doesn't have a benefit from it - please correct this.

2) There were a host of options discussed at the beginning of the thread as to how the season could be finished. If you can't be bothered to read differing opinions after 101 pages I doubt I'm going to persuade you now.

3) How did you deduce that? Where do you get you views from? [please insert my next opinion here by random allocation as you seem to do that anyway irrespective of what people actually write]. I'm saying that you as a Liverpool fan want one outcome because you are hugely biased. Other fans of rival clubs want other outcomes because they are hugely biased (and clearly winding you up), As regards whose opinions I would personally listen to most on an internet forum it would be neither of those groups. Of course the Premiership should listen to experts, no-where have i said anything suggesting they shouldn't.

Point 3 is related to point 1; I don't understand why you keep referring to the opinions of people who support no club or a small club as if they matter? Apathy is not the same as objectivity.

What has the PL actually done wrong? You're praising @Libby as objective, who is now raging that the PL is insisting on playing games. Except they haven't. All they're doing is planning for the best case scenario.

Researchers are suggesting the coronavirus could be an issue for 2 years so any solution for this season needs to be part of a bigger plan for football over the next 2-3 seasons.

I don't eat at McDonalds, so it has no impact on my life. I believe if you work there though, you get little stars if you're an exceptional employee, you know the sort of thing i mean *

Agreed entirely.

ps. Woah there! I didn't praise Libby I merely used him as an example of people who, in my opinion (subjective - I can explain what that means as well if you want), are able to comment on the situation without the weighting of bias that most people are bringing into the argument. You presumably are aware that you're very biased? There's nothing wrong with that per se but it is a relevant factor.

My only bias is since I don't attend games in person I will be less affected by closed door games than others. But that just makes me more objective and my opinion more valid than people who go the game right?

You’re literally the most one eyed poster on the entire forum.

Is this a serious comment? Ok. I'm just not sure there's a response i can give to that. It's been decent conversing with you but i feel we may have hit an impasse.

What bias is there in me not slagging off the PL and demanding they cancel the league right now?

IMO if the PL announced today they were cancelling the league the only thing that would be different about tomorrow is a lot of people working for clubs would be laid off soon.

BTW some interesting information for anyone who is looking at the swift action by the French, Belgian, and Scottish leagues to cancel their current seasons in one way or another - all three of these have got massive new TV deals starting next season.

So perhaps their haste is actually just as much about TV money as the PL's slower (more considered) approach supposedly is?

Upto 10 stadiums could be used as neutral grounds to complete the season.

Upto 40k tests required.

Gary Neville delivering an uppercut to any chance of football returning <laugh>

He cannot see how it is going to happen and his view has changed from months back. The players are scared, if one player goes down with COVID, the whole teal becomes isolated.

But Gary, GARY.....LiVeRpOoL
