Both Wycombe and PNE had wins on Saturday so both teams should be feeling confidant. Hopefully it will be a good game but what do you think the outcome will be ? 2 on the trot for Wycombe or 7 on the bounce for PNE (league)? Personnaly I feel the good run should continue with at least a point, hopefully 3 for the mighty Whites
It could be a tight one but will be intersting to see if Saturday was just an off-day for Sheffield United albeit a great performance from us. I would be happy to share the spoils in this one but I said that before the saturday game
toying with the idea of heading over to this one. trains back to london are a bit infrequent and not sure about a drive round the M25 at 6pm on a week night! should be a good test this one... I think prior to Saturdays result for WWFC this would be a good 3 points opportunity on paper, but WWFC will have a lot of confidence after Saturday's result. Would be incredible if we can keep the straight wins run going. I think that PNE will have just enough in this, another 2-1 win, and keep things rolling on nicely in to the Orient game on Saturday.
With both teams on a high this could be a very close game. If Wycombe can replicate the team spirit they showed on Saturday they might just pull it off but I think I would be happy with a draw. Preston are always a strong side. My thoughts go back to the play-off final at Wembley; what a fantastic game that was. Hopefully Gareth will get a chance to come on for a standing ovation; a legend for both our teams. Let's hope for a good game, a fair ref and may the best team win (unless that's Preston in which case for "win" read "draw". Have a safe journey all you Preston fans.
Sorry I posted similar finneyfan, couldn't get on here for some reason until late this afternoon and hadn't seen this article until now..., anyway if PNE shape up they should do the business. However the winning run is sure to end eventually and this will be a big test, Wycombe had their win at the weekend and did us a favour and will be looking to build on that and move up the league. Northend will have to come to terms with playing at some of the smaller grounds, but I feel that we have the ammunition to bring home the spoils.....fingers crossed..
a lot depends on which wycombe turn up if its the one for the tranmere game then you will win if its the one that battled so hard against sheff utd then we have a chance ,after all no team is unbeatable ,no offence intended
Evening Ron.. Wycombe fully deserved their playoff win against PNE, if the truth be known Northend were not good enough at that time and did well to reach that final. Gareth Ainsworth become a legend at every club he played for, a player prepared to run through a brick wall for all of his clubs and much appreciated by by all the fans. Not many players can play against their old club and get a great ovation but he is one.. Hope it's a good game and may the best team win.......as long as it's Northend...
