There are, but they don't break it down too well for recent times.

Up to lockdown, we were below the longer term average, but the last I saw it had spiked considerably.

Unfortunately, because everything gets labelled as covid, even though they may not have been tested, and even if they did, the test is not always accurate, I'll doubt we'll ever know if the measures took more than the virus.

At the end of the day, all we're doing is hiding, it'll still be there when we're allowed out.

This was the numbers of deaths per day over the last 10 days, from NHS England, the number for yesterday 105, a big drop

You might be right
Depends what you want the number for I suppose
Govt clearly disagree though or they’d be testing every deceased person for it

Your last sentence can only be valid if they actually had that as an option. They quite clearly don't. I don't blame the government, they can only work within the resources available, and on the advice they receive.

I’ve seen several people on Twitter, who seem very upset about their parents deaths being recorded as potentially involving COVID-19, when they were dying of something else and they don’t believe it was a factor at all.

Bugger off pavement menace, god knows how many people you’ve run over on your little trike
True story:

Nurse to Rico's hospital visitor:
"Are you looking for someone."
Visitor:
"Yeah, Steve Rico."
Nurse:
"Oh, that moaning git"

Now **** off, and I'll speak to you again when I have less time.

I heard the reverse. Some doctors saying cause of death was dementia, when Covid19 was the likely cause.

Curtis Woodhouse just posted this, it was a couple of miles from his house this afternoon...

With the constant references to two metres have we metricated by stealth.
I thought after Brexit we would revert to feet and inches.

Doesn't he live in driff? This looks like the bend at raywell?
That was my thought as well.

Doesn't help when the guidance says we can drive out to go for walks.
However cycled through Hornsea today and very impressed with the lack of traffic and people. Seems to vary from areas, people generally following the rules but more getting out as cabin fever creeps

If I wear the cheap masks at work my glasses steam up, which proves they are useless, I now have a £30 one with changeable filters for dust, but it has a vent at the front, so that’s useless, but great for dust and my glasses don’t steam up, the only ones that seem to work are the N95 ones which can’t be bought anywhere because they are the ones the NHS use.

So until the NHS is fully stocked and the N95 become available, the Government won’t issue a mask wearing order.
I think you’re correct about the government, however they could help make them available. The best masks are said to be FFP3 masks with a vent (to allow air OUT). You can still get these on Ebay although people are profiteering and marking them up by ten or twenty times their value.

It is an option

Not saying it’s the right option, but it is an option that is possible if required

Not all the deaths announced today happened in the last 24 hours - with 105 on Friday, 236 on Thursday and 66 on Wednesday.

A further 235 occurred since the start of the month, while 69 were in March.

lifted from the press - this is what we are up against - the figures are meaningless on a day to day basis - the 105 figure will increase a number of times over the next month - for instance Betsi Cadwaladr in North Wales increased their death count from 4 since the start of the pandemic by 84 yesterday because they hadn't reported any deaths for the last 4 weeks even though deaths were occurring
