Know the feeling . What gets me is that there are less cars on the road but more bikes on the footpath and often a cycle lane empty as they carelessly buzz past.

Perhaps it's not the content of what you post, perhaps it's that your posts read like they were written by a condescending knobhead.

No, but on reflection I have learnt you can do other things at the same time wearing bright colours as opposed to actually biking. It is far less tiring and. safer. For instance, sat here in my purple Lycra, reading not 606, guitar on lap, trying to workout PF's 'wishing you were here', drinking usual Friday night v and c, with tv in the background...(Alan Partridge has just come on?!). Also got half an eye looking out conservatory for meteorites or Dennis's muliple aircraft. Slightly more prone to having a heart attack, almost certainly not going to catch corona and certainly not gonna get crushed by a juggernaut on A63.
Or I could be on a bike ride.
Cordiv19 has taught us we have to cram as much in this short life as we can.
Bright Lycra for me any time.

I can see another winter of discontent, to be honest, I hope not here's hoping they can come up with a vaccine.

If the complete complacency that 'some' are showing carries on, you can guarantee that the second wave will hit and this time lockdown would mean lockdown and with no bail out. 2/3 weeks ago you could see that the recommendations/ directions were being followed. Now, I would say that in the last week, car use has gone up by say 30% in this village, I don't know what its like where everyone else is.

    Johns are always good posts

I really don’t have much time to listen to the news or much inclination tbh
But this place makes ya laugh first and foremost sometimes makes ya cry
And keeps you informed of what’s going on better than any news programme. I often wonder what I’d do without it and it worries me if it wasn’t here!

Bit of arguing doesn’t go amiss either <laugh><laugh>

I think often, for some, replies are based on how the poster feels about them self, rather than what the intention of the post is. Happy to be disagreed with, that is what a forum is for. We move on.

People will forgive you for being wrong, but they will never forgive you for being right—especially if events prove you right while proving them wrong - as Thomas Sowell wrote.

    Have a good weekend all.

I would suggest we are a minimum of 2 years away from proving anything about what was done right or what was done badly in this crisis. It's an immense learning curve for everyone, experts or not. There will have been some dead ends, and some inspired map/crystal ball reading.

I had to go to my storage unit yesterday. I needed to get something my wife will need. I drove into Southampton and the amount of traffic actually shocked me. Not only that, all normal driving seemed to have gone out of the windows. I was cut up quite badly at least three times once by a container truck. I thought at first it was me, but I was driving just over the speed limit of forty and the truck was doing over 50. He undertook me on a right hand filter and then slammed on the brakes.
    **** off.

Having been up a ladder for the last 4 hours painting (verity therapeutic) I can confirm South Cave is the essential journey capital of the UK. I thought id measure it. My road 19 cars in 30 minutes!!!.... and I'm not on the main drag...
