I'm not on this part, but I believe that the owner is actually Amanda Stavely and her husband with the Saudi simply as investors , so in it would appear that the entire bid has ben set up to allow a safe pass, I have a feeling their legal teams will have ensured there is no last minute problem that would mean they lose 17 million?
I think you’re right that the lawyers will have covered this. The TV piracy thing is harder to bury which is why I think it will be more of an issue than such a vile regime owning a football club.

I thought this, but if you look into it they have no chance because they were already cleared of any wrong doing in court.

I do feel there's too much hypocrisy out there about this... I mean nobody battered an eyelid when Joshua was over there collecting his money and PPV was being sold all over the country.

I thought this , however they were actually cleared of any wrong doing in the courts.
I don’t know whether there was a court case but what the courts think would be irrelevant. The PL would consider whether it’s in their vested interests to have a constituent who actively deprives them of revenue. However, no one turns down Saudi money so I just can’t see the deal being refused.

I think the timing of it also makes it harder to turn down given the financial issues at the moment, but I will have a doubt until it's announced which will be within the next week apparently.

I wonder if there is an issue with Man United signing a contract with Saudi investment a couple of days ago?

The buyers have already paid 17 million deposit and according to the buying stages the would be buyers are given and answer on whether they're suitable before the official check, so I believe it's done and just a formality at the end of proceedings.

Im still concerned, but I think that's just because things tend to go wrong up here

How can you in one post say it’s done, but also say you are concerned <laugh>

The PPV money didn’t go to them.

The fact that BEIN sports failed to prove the Saudis were directly responsible for the illegal broadcasts in court, is irrelevant to what the PL may believe to be in their best interests.

joshus took about 100 million of Saudi money and he was in the papers a national hero

no mention of sportswashing just blowing smoke up is southern arse

cant believe that they sold the fight on PPV if they paid for it all. Good on him taking the blood money, stops him spending it on fake paintings and arms to kill innocent people nd have people chopped up

Oooh.

imagine the PL looking after the interests of the other clubs over a flawed investment in Newcastle with Saverley as a Saudi puppet.

This was no last minute obstacle that's been thrown in, so as I've said I believe the legal teams have already taken care of this given the 17 million pound deposit paid.

I do find it very interesting that you've switched from you original position to searching for hope that the takeover wont even go through lol

or they might welcome the money

Losing £17m is nothing for a man who paid £500m for a painting remember!

Is it, isn't it going ahead?

anyway the reporters close to the deal say it will be going through despite of all the attempts to stop it

What money? How do the PL gain a penny from the Saudis buying a controlling stake in Newcastle?

They do however receive £400m a year from BEIN.

The prem league clubs could all do with selling a few players atm

its not uncommon for a few back hand payments to float around in football either
