"In my eyes we're still the best club in English football, if not world football. The surprise is that we've not won a title for a long time." That's a quote from Dalglish, your own manager. So apparently your own manager is now as arrogant and despicable as the Utd fans you hate. Care to explain that? Actually the last time we picked up 16 points from our first six games was 99/00. We won the title by 18 points
Were you unbeaten in 15 out of the first 16 league games in 1999/2000 like you were in 1985/1986 when you managed to finish 4th? Thought not. The media had you crowned champions. Another thing that a lot of people have seemed to have forgotten that in December 1981 the media had Man United crowned champions. They were not expecting was then 12th placed Liverpool to go on a run of 20 wins and 2 draws in the remaining 24 league games.
Those events were a long time ago. Liverpool were good enough to win titles back then and Man Utd wouldn't have that sort of slump under Sir Alex nowadays.
Not that I'm expecting you to know the answer to this, its obvious you've only been a Man United fan since 1992 (Thats when you believe football began). Did you in 1999-2000 be unbeaten in 15 of the first 16 league games like you were in 1985/1986 when you eventually finished 4th. The reasons for which were Bryan Robson injuries and Norman Whiteside and Mark Hughes and Paul McGraths drink problems.
I made the point that the last time you went on such an unbeaten run, you fell to pieces and that was in the 1985/86 season. Its also a fact that any team that has scored a glut of goals in the early part of the season in 9 attempts has not won the league.
I noticed how you shut up about our goals against Arsenal after you had two off-side goals allowed against Chelsea. Ours were marginal if not level, yours were both at least a foot off-side.
Yeh whatever. Nani was about 40 yards and more from chelseas goal and went past 3 players before shooting. Chelsea would be wise to look at their defending on both goals and not the marginal offsides.
