Ah, unter'/storey/ harris

What a threesome, tackling was something else in the good/bad old days.

Watched, Hunter bites your legs many time. Did he break Bobby Kerrs leg?

Iirc Chopper Harris also played for Brentford after he left Chelsea

Wonder how VAR would have affected them

Yes, but not changed my mind.<laugh>
And unlike some I have met him off the field, but on it he was a disgrace.

Collins & Giles were filthy, snidey bassas (kidney punching when the ref's back was turned etc) as well as, seemingly trying to hurt opposing players, when competing for the ball - is my memory playing games or wasn't it Collins who broke McPheat's leg?

Charlton was capable of bending the rules (standing on opposing players feet, to stop them jumping, etc) but Hunter was just a genuine hard man, who played the game within the rules at that time.

Yes he did break Kerr's leg at Roker Park
No great love for LUFC but wouldn't wish this death on anybody RIP

Bremner Giles and Hunter the dirtiest players I have ever seen in one football club. But those days football was a contact sport and these guys knew how to "contact". I've been told Hunter was a gentleman off the field. RIP Norman,

Was there at the game that he broke Kerr's leg. Used to hate him and Leeds with a passion but wished we had him in our defence. Rest in peace lad. From an era of some hard lads......will turn in his grave when the game gets back underway and he watches from up above players get just breathed on and going down like a bag of hammers. Did I see a goal on the youtube video he scored with his right foot.........always thought he just stood on that?

I recall reading, long ago that during the 73 Cup Final, Dennis Tuart did a nutmeg on him.
Norman caught up with him and said, 'Dennis if you do that to me again, I'll break both your legs'.
So Dennis didn't do it again.

But at the end of the Game it was Norman Hunter who got to Dennis to say, 'well done you deserved that'.

Hard as they came.
Dirty, if he felt it was need.
But never the sort of sneaky, cheating, underhand approach of the likes of Bremmer and Giles.
He did what he was good at out in the open and unlike most of that Side, he often did it with a smile.
