We may well be? Our country is different from others and so we shouldn't compare. I am glad they have just said that deaths are reported differently in each country. You didn't care how deaths were reported before, so why now... it's for one reason only.

I’m always interested in stats. Particularly when they’re ignoring vast swathes of them.

It's certainly not when when you need to keep the figures lower than other countries.

Mate all the figures will come out.
My Mrs was contacted by the government (due to her legal skills) and they asked her to be a key worker in registering deaths.
After she accepted they put her on a course on the Friday and on Monday we got a knock at the door and this fella dropped off a new laptop with all the software on. Today he returned with some information pack. and she will be going live next week. With the recording of deaths, normally you have 14 days to register but under new laws, it's now 28 days. this means that you can never have a daily total. This information will be collated by the ONS and put in the public domain when it has it. She also knows when they expect the high points. Sadly, my Mrs tells me S222.
It will be a tough job for her because she will helping grieving families through the process. What's also a 2222 thing is that for many, this is the first port of call. :emoticon-0106-cryin. I am really proud of her because I couldn't do it.

It doesn't even need to be a daily total, just add the ones we know of on and keep adding them on. It's not ****ing rocket science. Example 12,000 hospitalised deaths, 2000 external that we have confirmed equals 14000, or as Priti would say...120002001000355277953

It really isn't difficult Ellers unless you make it difficult or want to make things not look as bad as others.

It made enough sense to me. It doesn’t have to be daily even. I’d have a lot more respect for them if once a week they said “the latest updated figure for all CV deaths is X. Y as provided daily plus Z which weren’t”.

Currently it comes across like they’re hiding from it.

I will give you an example Ellers dear chap
    12000 hospital deaths
4000 external deaths of which we can confirm, say, 2500 were coronavirus related, the other 1500 yet to be confirmed.
Total add 12000 to 2500 and put that on the graph. Pretty difficult hey

What is it with you bob? Seriously why do you always come along and goad our mock?
We've done this before. remember when you falsely accused me of reporting someone to the mods? Remember the toys went out of the pram and you said you were leaving and not coming back?
Well, now you're back at least try and be normal because it's funny that the argumentive problems always occur when the same ones get together. Shame really because I enjoy your football banter (although your political views are funny). :emoticon-0148-yes:

Wow Ellers, just correct me if I'm wrong, did you say it was myself who should think before they post? You need to take a chill pill lad, take a deep breath and calm yourself down. Blimey that really was some outburst hey.

No, it comes across to you and others that they are hiding things because you want it to. I have told you mate, we just do things differently. The woman at the briefing just said the same... is she a liar? Is that fab NHS spokesperson a lair? No ,it's how we record deaths
They have said though that they will try to collate the figures a bit quicker. This I guess is to please the media so they can sensationalise a story.

So are people not to question why other countries have their total figures for deaths and we put them on a graph that WE designed comparing those numbers to just our hospitalised deaths?? Seriously mate, it's a question worth asking ffs. Why publish a graph daily to the nation that isn't even truly correct.

No. The briefings are watched by millions (probably fewer millions than at the start now they don’t say a lot) while ONS figures are there if people know where to look and can interpret what’s in front of them, which is far from a given.

I didn’t watch much of today’s but there’s no reason why they can’t give a more accurate update less frequently alongside the daily NHS figures. They aren’t obliged to only ever quote one source.
