You've just said, if you end the season early it's not fair on someone. What we're talking about is the option that is the least unfair, and in no way shape or form have the null and voiders demonstrated that is their option, despite the scramble for the bogus moral high ground.

I’ve said it’s unfair if the season is ended and we take current points or average points as the way of deciding the outcome, as teams are denied a fair opportunity at deciding their fate. If it’s null and void no-one loses anything as they haven’t earned it yet.

What’s your more fair alternative if the league can’t be finished?

Blanket doesn't mean fair.

Death for all crimes is fair? It's as blanket as you get.

Blanket does mean fair in the sense everyone is being treated equally.

Poor comparison fella and shows your lack of thought. Death for some childkillers but not for others isn't fair, which is what you're proposing <ok>

Average points is blanket too. As is 1 point each for outstanding games. So is ending where we finish. So too is finishing it off behind closed doors. Must have different definition of what blanket means, I suppose.

IF the season can't be finished: where you end. We're three quarters of the way through, not three games - that would be the fairest for null and void.

I still can't see closed doors even being possible for at least another 3 months tbh. Can you imagine if players get injured and have to go to hospital for a scan or something when they're under so much pressure? Also think sending ambulances to football matches wouldn't be a wise use of resources during a pandemic.

I've no doubt they'll go behind closed doors eventually, and I've no doubt it'll be tragic, but I don't think it's going to be happening anytime soon.

Have they said anything about the plans if/when someone catches it yet?

So just screw over the teams in the relegation spots even though they should have 25% of their games still to play? That’s fairer than voiding this season and starting next season fresh?

Penalty to Liverpool

Average points or 1 point respects the results you have actually achieved.

Much fairer than pretending none of it happened IMO.

Plus I don't know how anyone could go into next season thinking any goal or result mattered when the season will probably end up voided again anyway.

At least current VAR only takes a minute. Voiding Another Result could make you wait 9 months to celebrate.

I've never said ANY blanket rule, context is important. I've only ever said two - either complete every competition or null and void every one that hasn't been completed. It's the fairest option and in context is the fairest option which can be applied to every club and every competition. You and Astro have latched on to one word and gone off at a tangent.

Minor detail but presumably you would also pay everyone in the PL the exact same prize money for this season?

So not only do Norwich survive relegation, they actually earn tens of millions of pounds more?

You would also need to void the League Cup surely, since a team might have focussed on a league game which you have now voided?

If you're voiding the season (I'm not but other are) then IMO the League Cup also has to go even though it's finished because it's part of the season. Community Shield too. Void means void.

No solution is perfect. We were talking about what is fairest.

They screwed themselved playing **** for 70% of the season.
