Lots are not going to hospital as they are there illegally and would rather suffer than face dealing with immigration officers.
That's a factor but its more complicated than that. The composition of essential workers is also a large factor.
Essential workers are difficult to define. Take my example, I’m not classed as essential. However got a phone call yesterday from maintenance man at one of Ireland’s leading food suppliers urgently needed a load of virus warning signage. I have to do it as they are regular customers but yet I’m not deemed an essential worker. Lots of grey areas
You could argue that you're 'helping the war effort' so to speak. The signage is essential, not your loyalty to the customer. And remember to ask if they need any more done!
Perhaps when you look at the large Asian area's of the big towns and cities, and you see them going about their normal daily routines, shopping, gathering around shop doorways and street railings, talking etc, may have something to do with it. Police in the Midlands, getting a bit of criticism, clamping down hard on mainly white areas but mainly turning a blind eye to Asian communities socialising.
