As mentioned above, we have only been testing hospital admissions until middle of last week. Very few got tested outside of hospitals. The 12% death rate is if you get bad enough to go in to hospital. Once in hospital you will currently have 12% chance of death. Obviously this number is influenced hugely by age and health. The problem is that if you are exposed to a really small amount of virus you are more likely to survive. If you are exposed to a shed load of it then you go downhill quickly. That's why a large % of deaths are in fit people working in hospitals. They are exposed to it and without PPE they just have to hold their breath and hope for the best! So basically you are already in a bad way and can't fight these viruses off and then you get shoved in a ward with a load of others breathing it out. It's not good.
Completely agree. But you can see how it could scale up. I can't fathom how many cases there really have been.
We only test people seriously ill in hospital, lots more have or have had the virus, up to 20x the official number, which brings the death rate right down.
Yes, 48 bus drivers from New York alone have died from it. Cashiers working at the supermarkets on minimum wage are at great risk too.
Absolutely. I know at the local hospital there have been around 20 deaths but although the wards are sealed off the virus has somehow got in to the cardiac ward and the stroke ward. These poor ****ers are just going about hoping that their masks don't start to leak. Must be terrifying.
I find it quite funny that you of all people are saying Boris should have locked down 3 weeks earlier, when we had no deaths and 39 cases, yes that was 2 March, 3 weeks earlier, are you the same WJ who was complaining about countries locking down and spoiling your holiday when it wasn't needed.
Uk conducting 1500 tests per day despite minister stating target was 100k per day. That’s a serious shortfall
1500 Coronavirus: National coronavirus testing centre only conducting 1,500 tests a day http://news.sky.com/story/coronavir...tre-only-conducting-1500-tests-a-day-11971991
You know I'm not one to argue but how did we get 9,000 new cases if we only tested 1,500 or you on about Ireland, if that's the case blame you friends the Germans, aren't they doing most of your tests as a thank you for Your Hitler support during the war
Testing centre in Milton Keynes. Geography was never my strongpoint but don’t think Milton Keynes is either in Ireland or Germany
I do my praying in same spot as shaks so that won’t worry me. Whoever does what though, seriously hope your figures soon start to show some serious improvements. 10k deaths is terrible
Yes it is, think by next W/E we might see some improvement, although compared to New York we've seen nothing yet.
True but Trumps administration are not setting a very high benchmark. You would hope to remain a long long way ahead of those figures
