I just thought it would be a good idea to share our thoughts about this weeks results,not only for Spurs but all the EPL,i know there are still 2 games to go,but you get my drift.

Barclays Premier League
Arsenal 3-0 Bolton
Chelsea 4-1 Swansea
Liverpool 2-1 Wolverhampton
Man City 2-0 Everton
Newcastle 3-1 Blackburn
Stoke 1-1 Man Utd
West Brom 0-0 Fulham
Wigan 1-2 Tottenham

So a good result for Spurs,but also most of our so-called rivals won too,OPINIONS??

The away win was massive for us, especially as Wigan's last home loss was in February, but wins for Arsenal and Liverpool weren't good.
Newcastle have continued their impressive start too, which probably won't go on for the whole season admittedly, but we've got them coming up soon.
 
Another game where Stoke have taken points off the big boys at home. A trip to the Brittania is looking as perilous as any ground in the country right now. Hopefully the Europa League will takes it toll before we play them in December but I'm sure Crouch, Palacios and Woody will want to prove a point against us. I'm not sure even Etherington has completely forgiven us yet!

I always thought Demba Ba was a smart signing from Pardew but he started the season playing him off the striker(Ameobi). With Ben Arfa on his way back could well see even more from them yet

Mersey and NLD derbies coming up next week, whilst the Manchester teams both have opportunites to tear strips off relegation fodder.
 
I'm a little less worried about Stoke than previous seasons, with Sandro & Parker we have a much more robust midfield, and Palacious should pass us the ball a few times during the game.
 
Palacios hasn't even been getting into the Stoke team, Spurf.
I'm sure that he'll get plenty of games for them, as Stoke seem to be trying to compete on all fronts this season, but he's on the bench at the moment.
Parker has definitely been a step up for us, so far.

Thank You PNP,was just reading on another thread that we needed more threads so i thought this would be a good idea.
 
Great effort by Stoke showed alot of charachter,Newcastle doing really well,not sure if it will last though.Bolton disappointing so far,but have their share of injuries.Great result for Spurs,the type of game we wouldn't have won last season.On the whole no big shocks,apart maybe the ManU result.
 
It's the exact game that we didn't win last season, Pat!
We drew and failed to score.
In fact, we failed to score against them at all last season, bizarrely.

Thinking about it, we're actually up 3 points on the same games last season.
We lost to Man Utd at Old Trafford, drew with City at WHL, beat Liverpool and drew with both Wolves and Wigan.
 
Those were the home results, SF.
Both of those fixtures this season were away, whereas we drew with Wigan 0-0 and Wolves 3-3 last season.

I like to think of it as pre- and post-transfer window, Ensil.
Parker and Adebayor have both been excellent and Modric has got his head down and started playing again.
We missed Sandro badly while he was out with injury, too.
 
A lot will depend on the fitness of key players. If we can keep Ledley playing fairly regularly - well, regularly, for him, plus the likes of Ade, Bale, Modric, Sandro; then yes, we could be at the start of a good run. I do fear for our defence at times when Ledlry isn't there, though.
 
I think we'd be ok if Gallas was fit when King's out NSIS, but when they're both out we look a bit lost at the back at times.
It might be a good idea to start Parker and Sandro together if neither King or Gallas are both unavailable.
It worked well for a good chunk of yesterday's game.
 
Spurs and Liverpool have already shown that they aren't as consistent as the top three in either results or performances so it's looking like a battle between the two for fourth, IMO.

Based on what?, 5 games with a TW finishing in the middle of them!...IMO...a foolish assumption!
 
It was a great result for us, better than Pool or Arsenal's. We're three points up on our corresponding fixtures from last year, so would stroll top 4 at that rate, probably end up 2nd :-) However, I don't expect that to happen, my prediction was for 6th, but we have a great chance for 4th now.

It was annoying to see Adam's shot going luckily in off Johnson. There'd been a foul, Adam was only playing because him and Skrtl used up their bans in the Lge Cup game midweek. But Pool are still rated by the bookies to finish above us, despite the fact that of late we look better than them.
 
Bookies odds aren't just based upon the likelyhood of something happening though, Ghoddle.
They alter them based upon bets, too.
Liverpool fans have put more money on it, so they have shorter odds, to reduce losses if it does happen.

I agree about the Johnson OG.
What happened to Dalglish's moaning about the refs this week?

But each season is are different: Spurs would have been second last season if we had taken full points against the bottom three. We've addressed the weaknesses in the team that led to our inconsistency - so why shouldn't we challenge to be higher than 4th. We had nowhere near our best players available for our first two matches - I do think we have a worse squad than both City and Utd and we are probably marginally worse than Chelsea, but not so far away that we couldn't finish above all of these if a bit of luck comes our way.
