Exactly this. They are sptics after allExactly as it should be looks like we might be having a rethink quite rightly
If true that would be the second time we have got it wrong but listened which is always encouraging

Football clubs are part of the fabric of local communities. They’re not merely businesses that sit on a par with the corporates.
Take my own club for example. We have a massive and hugely successful local community operation - Everton in the Community. A charity that the club is rightly proud of. How could we furlough our working class locally based employees whilst proclaiming to be a club that is at the heart of the local community? The answer is we couldn’t and we didn’t.
@Lucaaas is spot on in what he says there, Liverpool made a cold business call, that wasn’t befitting of their position and maybe that call was due to their lack of genuine local understanding at board level.

Well yeah but rightly or wrongly we expect more from our football clubs don't we? They're supposed to represent the local community and are more invested in doing so than the large companies you're talking about.
Clubs portray themselves as a 'family' and have big campaigns playing on this fact, 'this means more' and so on. I've never seen McDonalds claim it's the passion of the local people that makes them so special.
We're the same with our [HASHTAG]#togetherasone[/HASHTAG] ****e. I'll be appalled if we take money from the taxpayer to pay our staff when we receive hundreds of millions in broadcasting revenues.
YepI wasn't defending Liverpool or the other football clubs, it's out of order and they've rightly been criticised.
There are many other businesses that are still claiming without facing flack though.
Wot are those then?Exactly this. They are sptics after all![]()
I agree with what you say, but just to add to the last part. Right now, there's a lot of confusion about what happens with the broadcasting money as games simply aren't being broadcasted, they might never be, might be delayed or might have some competitions scrapped to catch up with others. Those broadcasters aren't going to continue paying up for nothing and there's every chance some might have to be repaid. Clubs who've balanced their books based on expected income might be screwed over here - PL teams included - and might need to recoup money from somewhere to avoid collapse. Obviously player salaries are the biggest expenditure here and this is partly why for example some Spanish and Italian teams have cut wages.Well yeah but rightly or wrongly we expect more from our football clubs don't we? My company have got us working even though we're on furlough (yank ****)Yep
Spot on
What mine have done is bad too imho
My staff are scared and leadership in the company has been abject - but that is my opinion only and I am not in full receipt of all the facts but from what I am able to see it is not right.
My company have got us working even though we're on furlough (yank ****)

as afctw says you're cannot do both .My company have got us working even though we're on furlough (yank ****)
While i'm glad we have rescinded our furlough decision i do wonder why the same outrage isn't heaped on any other companies taking the same sort of decisions.
I think the obscene transfer fees and wages obscure the fact that even at PL level quire a few clubs are very much hand to mouth and must be looking at their balance sheets with dread .
Scousers don't grassYeah that’s illegal, what kind of **** employers have you both got?
Time to grass them up to HMRC![]()

Brilliant. Just seen that the Daily Mail's billionaire owners, who also own the Evening Standard, are furloughing their staff using government money. And who does Piers Morgan write for? And which paper has been at the forefront of the vitriol against millionaire payers and rich clubs furloughing staff? Quick, run off a story about Meghan Markle.
**** will doPiers Morgan is a complete low life imho
That is all
