The workers are taxpayers so in effect would be supporting themselves

So sad that a club supposedly as big as Liverpool needed a swell of public opinion to make them do the right thing.

It's irrelevant now but the plan was only for 200 out of 650 staff to use the scheme and for the money to be repaid later.

Look at that, after a U turn the titanic would be proud of. You can go back to your original stance, or after pages of posts defending this what will you do.

And everyone can go back to slaughtering Spurs and calling them "vermin" etc.

Or are they actually not that bothered about the issue now that it's not Liverpool?

Tel, tobes, trebs later, all livid weve done the right thing.

Suck my fukin fume pipe lol

I still have that dislike for the clubs doing it and U Turn FC.

now, with your your posts supporting it, you will not have a problem with Spurs etc doing it?

Happy to see a club and city kicked by the TORY party stand by its routes.
Now if Astro can just make his mind up

But in the spirit of transparency we must also be clear, despite the fact we were in a healthy position prior to this crisis, our revenues have been shut off yet our outgoings remain. And like almost every sector of society, there is great uncertainty and concern over our present and future.

Like any responsible employer concerned for its workers in the current situation, the club continues to prepare for a range of different scenarios, around when football can return to operating as it did before the pandemic. These scenarios range from best case to worst and everything in between.

It is an unavoidable truth that several of these scenarios involve a massive downturn in revenue, with correspondingly unprecedented operating losses. Having these vital financial resources so profoundly impacted would obviously negatively affect our ability to operate as we previously have.

Love this thinly veiled threat that cost cutting measures may have to be introduced in the future.
Say Liverpool have 1000 staff to pay for during the shutdown. I’ll go for an average of 3000 per employee per month.
If this goes on for 4 months, I make 12 mill that they will have to find.
12 million pounds for ****s sake. That’s not even a decent championship player!

it’s a minimino, so yeah, not even a decent championship player.

Sucky hid under his bed for days not discussing his pathetic club and now he’s acting like they’re setting the example for all clubs.

Liverpool will always be known as the club who tried to steal from the government during a pandemic.

****house little club.

You don't need excuses mate, you supported it remember?

Everyone will remember your stance on this one mate.

he didn’t support it at the start remember. Just look at the first page, it was great when Liverpool were using it and sticking two fingers up to the city.

My stance that LFC was 5th worst PL club on the issue. Now back to joint first <diva>

I’m sure we all agree that any success Liverpool achieve in the near future will be tainted by this clear ‘sodomisation’ of British values.
