Can I ask if you are still carrying out installations and attending customer faults?

We are carrying out repairs to vulnerable people and people who do not have a mobile And CNI , see below .

As regards installations we are only working on CNI ( Critical national infrastructure ) NHS , police , military , shops , public transport etc .

Everything else has come to a stop although our external gangs that don’t visit customers sites are working currently ( think that may get stopped though not sure )

I ask because I worked for BT for over 24 years in the East Riding and beyond and now work for another comms company which is still attending customers premises albeit with all the relevant PPE.

I am honestly not sure if our engineers have ppe , . I do know that customers must be in a different room to the engineers when they are in the premesis . Bit tricky in a residential place , not so much in a big business / office / data centre .

Black and Amber . I will check the pipe tomorrow if that’s ok . Doesn’t sound right that they don’t have ppe .

We've been issued with quite an elaborate facemask with disposable filters, latex gloves, eyeshields and hand sanitiser. We have to ring ahead of the appointment and ask if anyone in the property has any symptoms. If in doubt we don't go in.

I’m delivering for a pharmacy at the moment, the ppe guideline is face mask and hand sanitiser. 90% of who I’m delivering to you pop it on the doorstep, stand back and wait for an answer (you still have to touch the doorbell). There are 10% though who’s homes you have a key safe code for and the customer/patient is in the same room.

I feel protected enough, it’s just a case of making it a habit to use the hand sanitiser, you can wear gloves but it’s no different to bare hands, if you touch your face wearing them or a hard surface it spreads just the same.

I know we are the same in regards to asking if anyone has symptoms or been in contact with anyone who has . The we will NOT go in .

Just be careful because people are going crazy from being in lock down!

Actually I've just been talking about this with the microwave and toaster while drinking coffee and we all agreed that things are getting bad. I didn't mention anything to the washing machine as she puts a different spin on everything. Certainly not to the fridge as he is acting cold and distant. In the end the iron straightened me out as she said everything will be fine, no situation is too pressing. The vacuum was very unsympathetic... told me to just suck it up, but the fan was more optimistic and hoped it would all soon blow over! The toilet looked a bit flushed when I asked its opinion and didn’t say anything but the door knob told me to get a grip. The front door said I was unhinged and so the curtains told me to ........yes, you guessed it .....pull myself together

I hope it made you smile :emoticon-0140-rofl:

I had a conversion with a bit of kitchen equipment the other day too. Very withdrawn and pensive, chubby little bloke, dressed like a monk....turns out he was a deep fat fryer.

An interesting read, a senior advisor said we’ve backed ourselves into a corner with no exit plan, he wants herd immunity, describes the current strategy of harming children to protect the vulnerable
https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/coronavirus-adviser-pm-wants-herd-18042073

Until a vaccine is created, produced and issued to the relevant percentage of the population, herd immunity is really the only protection as a long term lockdown is unsustainable. Where I live, its been 3 weeks of a 'light' lockdown and already companies are stating that they cannot continue indefinitely and a staggered re-open needs to happen after Easter with the elderly and vulnerable remaining isolated.

There's also the mental illness, wellbeing and stress to consider with a longterm lockdown, especially going into the summer season.

The US and UK 'loan system' for private companies just simply won't work for longer than a few weeks. The majority of blue collar service and production industries work on such slim profit margins nowadays that taking a loan will screw them as they won't be able to service the debt once things are up and running again.. What restaurant, for example, makes enough of a profit to pay off another loan..

People will die, its horrific and the result of this virus not being contained in the early stages, but many more will suffer and die of these lock downs are continued into the summer.

It's a precarious and dangerous time.

Agree with all of this 100%

My prediction for tonight’s royal address is the Queen’s going to bollock us for flouting the stay at home directive, and then threaten to give Phillip his car keys back too make sure the streets are far too dangerous too anyone if they don’t comply.

The minute we were all told to stay at home she ****ed off to Windsor. It will annoy the **** out of me how many times she'll use the word "we". Better health care than the rest of us put together, servants doing everything for her and I'd like to see her queuing in Tesco

Been a lot of posts asking for stuff on the and local selling groups, they just dont care

Good luck.

Wifey did similar a few years ago that got a lot of interest at the time about something she apparently witnessed as a young girl living near York over a period of time that scared her and two other friends for years and to this day still cannot be rationally explained.
Tell me more...

Chazz apologised for that
It’s a bit much turning into a best seller...

For anyone who listens to Joe Rogan, quite an interesting podcast with Dr Peter Hotez.

Will be available on youtube.

Perhaps if your sole intention of watching is to be annoyed and moan about it on here, you shouldn't ****ing watch it.

I’m not a big fan of hers, but don’t care enough to get excited about her being on telly, one way or the other.
Some people are big fans and will quite like hearing her I imagine.
It might even give some people a bit of a lift, which will be a good thing
Turns out those who don’t want to watch her aren’t being forced to...and a while ago someone invented catch up tv and the internet so even those welded to their settee don’t have to watch her.

Nothing to see here...move along
