Just outstanding the lads were tonight. United had 2 real chances all game and scored with 1 of them. Even without Rooney to restrict them to that is just superb. We played some really good stuff today I thought. Defensively very sound. Thought Delap was superb in the middle, Walters even better, Crouch wasn't great first half but exceptional in the 2nd half. The least we deserved a point. If any team deserved to win, it was us without a shadow of a doubt.
Agree. I know Utd fans will claim a penalty for Woodgate's challenge, but I'm not so sure. It looked like it was ball and man at the same time to me. Although it was great to get a point today, I'm well chuffed with it and I was cheering like everyone else at the end, I think we deserved all three. For long periods of the game we were the better side and played some really good football. I can't remember Delap making a single mistake, which is a first, but if I had to make any complaint it would be that yet again, the final ball into the box was too often under or over hit. Hopefully we can play like that again on a regular basis and if we do it will definitely be a top half finish.
Totally awesome performance today.. we actually had Utd on the rack at times. Just watched MOTD and NO WAY is that a true re flection of the game. HOW we didn't score first half? If not for their keeper we would have taken all three pts. Two world class saves and.. I am ONE very PROUD Stoke fan tonight. And the atmosphere was truly amazing today. To be slightly dissapointed we didn't win that game. SAY'S EVERYTHING. Well done the player's and the Stoke fans too! Top half if we can play that well and I honestly think, with better balls into the box, we will not have any problems. Top half for me, that was a supurb effort today. And Crouch... will score many more goals for us no problem. Brilliant performance from him. Could have scored a hatrick maybe should have. Well done T.P. It was great to be first on MOTD, but as you said Potts, it wasn't a true reflection. They missed out a few of our chances and showed Utd to have more possession than they really did. They could have shown more of the good football we played too - hardly a hoofball in sight! Feeling proud and happy!
Fantastic performance.The only gripe I`ve got is with them 2 tossers on motd.Lawrenson said it was a penalty for sure but woodgate definately got a touch on the ball first.Then when they were discussing Boltons demise he said `they`ve not been the same since they got beat beat 5-0 in the semi-final against`who was it?` oh yes, Stoke. what a plank!! Anyway whats happening with first Diao on Tuesday having a good game and today Rory Delap having a really good game? If these two start playing like that we`ll be formidable! :
Morning guys! Well Joe, this is a conversation I never thought we would be having! Rory was top notch for me yesterday and besides his endless running, his throws were coming out flat and dangerous again. Diao was immense on Tuesday when he came on. The bench was very strong today and I felt Tony was resting up the likes of Huthy, Palacios, Upson and Jerome for this coming Thursday. I am definitely in dreamland boys and I tell you what, if Wilko's goal had gone in I am fairly sure my head would have exploded!!! Great times, great game, great singing in the crowd, great great feeling today!!! UTP!!!!
Was well chuffed with the result yesterday. Listened to the game on talksport radio and it seemed we pressed them throughout and created several good chances especially 2nd half and but for some brilliant saves from the keeper we would have scored more and possibly taken all 3 points. It must have been great for all you who were there. MOTD highlights did not reflect how well Stoke must have played but we are used to that. After the game a Man Utd fan phoned in to Stan Collymore on Talksport complaining about our style of play and was rubbishing us. What a prat. At least Stan C thought we were well deserved of a point and said that we played some excellent football throughout the game. I shall be there on Thursday against Besiktas......... come on the Mighty Potters
I thought as a team they were excellent and held our own against the best team in the league - fantastic result! Didnt like the Huth decession and I thought Delap was our weakest link again - but the results talk and point was excellent! So TP got it right - excellent.
