Which department of the NHS are responsible for getting the stuff out? And who ultimately is responsible? Because it's primarily NHS staff who are complaining about this and rightly so.

And bear in mind the Health Minister himself said "We have significant stockpiles in this country, it's now a huge logistical exercise to get it out."

I'm no fan of Nick Ferrari, far from it, but he made a really good point. If we can get millions of newspapers delivered every morning to newsagents and supermarkets up and down the country, I find it hard to believe you have a logistical problem getting masks out to hospitals.

It requires a constant supply. So if a hospital gets 10,000 gloves in today, in a few days they'll be done with and another 10,000 are needed. The problem is that if you don't get the supplies right in the first place, then you're constantly playing catch up and the lack of supplies snowballs quickly which is what's happened.

Then they call him back and ask about Taiwan, and he says "we've already talked about China".
Taiwan is denied membership AND observer status in the WHO, and the only possible reason is China doesn't want them recognised as a country.

You’re assuming they aren’t delivering millions of bits of PPE every week at the moment, which they are.

There’s also been an issue created by the same frontline staff who are moaning, by using the incorrect PPE for different situations leading to unexpected numbers of certain items being used.

As you say it requires huge numbers of PPE to be delivered on a regular basis whilst trying to make sure correct numbers of the correct items are distributed to the right places across the country within the overall quantities they’re able to distribute.

The newspaper comparison is completely different. The exact same newspaper is delivered at the same known quantities using an already set up distribution network and if a shop runs out of newspapers it doesn’t get reported in the news. The only comparison is that it’s a lot of stuff being delivered around the country. It doesn’t take into account any of the many other factors that make this totally different.

In terms of which department, it isn’t a specific department. Currently the nhs has been re-assigning practically the entire senior structure of the organisation to try and best position people to deal with different areas of Covid-19 planning and actions. Ultimately responsible is the strategic commander (awesome job title).

The way this is being dealt with is nothing short of amazing. And there are incredibly talented people working seriously hard to respond to this as well as they can.

But people love to moan and look for people to blame.
