London's excellent transport system is largely down to one man btw; Ken Livingstone.

Before him, it was mostly ****. On his watch, tfl created London Overground from all the barely used bits of unintegrated track, trebled the number of buses, made them all disabled accessible, ran them through the night, invested in the tube, and introduced the congestion charge to raise revenue and get people out of their cars.

Even Boris as Mayor of London was unable to **** it all up, though he did double bus fares on his watch. Sadiq Khan has kept fares frozen.

Socialism works. Rishi Sunak knows.

I am now absolutely convinced I've already had this and I caught it from my son who is at university with a large number of chinese students.

I visited my son at uni between 16th-20th February, at the time he had a persistent cough and had been ill with flu for about three weeks.
On the 23rd Feb I started feeling very strange, disorientated and not able to trust myself. Next day I was shattered, slept through the whole day, tried to work the next day and achieved nothing because I couldnt concentrate. Next day shattered again and slept through the day, day after developed a cough and couldn't shift it for two weeks. Throughout I've had aching muscles and joints. I was told over the phone by the NHS helpline that this wasnt covid symptoms and it was normal flu.
My daughter collapsed on 24th Feb, feeling faint and then slept through the next 2 days before feeling better.

Initially I was thinking no way had my son had it that early, that we didn't have a fever and that it didn't start with a cough. If most recover within 7 days then why did our coughs last weeks. Having just watched a newsnight program listing symptoms I am now sure that the advice given by the NHS line was wrong.

I couldn't give a **** who plays for us, who leaves, how few trophies we ever win but to watch us act like the **** who runs weatherspoons is ****ing disgusting...think it is the only time I have been ashamed of the club.
****ish behaviour to impose a 20% wage cut on the lowest paid.

I am with you on that one. I suspect neither of us will have any argument against people who decide they dislike our clubs going forward, It's ****ing embarrassing to be associated with these ****s :(

I wonder when the government are going to break the bad news to us of extending the lockdown!

I'm not a gambling person, but suprised one of you lot ain't running a betting thread on the date lockdown will be lifted.

Will be amazed if schools go back to normal before September.
Think they will start fazed returns to jobs from the end of May IF they feel the virus is under control.
Think things will stay as they are now (or get worse) for the next 6-8 weeks.

Only a guess of course but...

even if it goes back to normal it wont last .. the next wave will come... we're all going down that road one day.

No, it won’t.

Do you understand how natural immunity works?

https://www.sciencealert.com/why-he...ORsjZnWKpycNiBomKOI52eC-X4MKqSqBaOasciXSD5l0k

This proves that the whole line of 'look at the facts' is utter bullshit and you are just an attention whore. Also, if you look at history you will see that the second wave is worse than the first wave for diseases that we have no natural immunity from, as it was with the swine flu epidemic that killed 50 million people in 1918-19.

Each and every year, Stan.

And this is merely two causes of death out of countless causes, each and every year.

Do you really not see that the reaction to this virus is utterly disproportionate?

The expectation is that Covid-19 will come and go, which is why we are being forced to forego our liberties, and yet huge numbers will continue to die of cancers, viruses, air pollution, weather, accidents, etc... every single year.

That’s my entire point, you halfwit!

No, we don’t go into lockdown in order protect us from the other ravages of this cruel world.

Hence, the reaction of some countries has been disproportionate.

I suppose you think it's stupid that we report unattended bags at airports and train stations, or that we screen luggage and people walking onto flights or into major events? After all, 34 (THIRTY FOUR) people have been killed in this country by radical islamist terrorists in this country in the last 11 (ELEVEN) years - that's three people per year!!

You probably think it's an infringement that we are forced to wear seatbelts in cars too. After all only about 250 people a year die as a result of not wearing a seatbelt.

The list goes on and for almost every danger posed to us the authorities try to mitigate, In this instance the ONLY mitigation is to isolate people and limit interaction. If you had any sort of intelligence at all - ANY - you would get your limited brain cells around that!

I see SKY News have had to air an apology, for claiming animal markets shown on their programme were not from within China as claimed <whistle>

I'd be ****ing amazed if he did, even Americans aren't that stupid. And while Biden is a fairly crap candidate, he's a lot better than Hilary.

I've been wrong about this **** before though, loads of times. So let's put it another way; if Trump gets a 2nd term, America is finished.
Thinking the american people have anything to do with whos put into power<laugh>
We will all get consumed in the capitalist YOLO attitude of living this country has become renowned for once it all settles.

Back to boasting about bigger n better n louder giving centre stage to no marks off the telly...lauding them as role models for our kids.

so they opted not to film the closed ones

No, they were clearly forced to tell the truth, that the images they displayed were not from China as claimed. I remember seeing the images the other day, and now to be told it wasn't in China was highly misleading, so i'm not surprised they have had to put the record straight.
