Anyone used to listen to "Round the Horne"? Kenneth Williams and Charles Hawtrey's camp double act was hilarious "Hello I'm Julian and this is my friend Sandy"
Horne- "What do you do for a living?"
Williams- "We've got a criminal practice"
Horne- "Yes, but what do you do for a living?"
They could fit more double entendres into a 3-minute sketch than you could imagine possible.

Definitely NOT quality television tonight just after 8pm;
Question Time

Last week there was far too much outdated party politics.
I would expect nothing better this week.
After applauding our NHS and key workers at 8 I'll be putting a DVD movie on.

What DVD are you going to watch, Lardi?

I'm currently working my way through the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Great stuff!

Have just watched 15 minutes of Johnny English, the only 'benefit' of enduring Rowan Atkinson is that this rubbish has given me a break from the ironing.

Atkinson is one of those 'hit-and-miss' comedians in my view.
Credit to him for trying out different kinds of comedy (within a fairly familiar range) but he doesn't always get it right for me.

His work that I really liked...

Not the Nine O'Clock News
Black Adder (particularly the 1st & 2nd series)

Stuff that just doesn't make me laugh...

Mr Bean
Thin Blue Line
Any of his movies

Having said that, there are very few comedians who are at their best absolutely all the time.
The ones who are tend to do the same kind of thing and not vary their act much.

One possible exception to this was Peter Sellers.

The geezer is in a Sushi bar, has spat out some food but caught his tie in the revolving counter of food and slides along putting all the other diners on the floor!

A scene like this probably highlights for me that you either like or dislike. It was so silly it WAS very funny.

Funnily enough, I can't stand the first series of Blackadder, but I adore the rest of them, especially Goes Forth. The Christmas special is also excellent.

Atkinson does a good turn in The Witches, Mr Bean is hilarious at times, and Johnny English is reasonably entertaining.

Overall, I'd give Atkinson an 8/10.

I'll give the 'Big Night In' a watch tonight I think.

Not usually a great one for watching charity telethons (as they used to be known), but unusual times are shaking up my habits a bit.
I'll readily confess though I am heartily sick of looking at celebrity living rooms.

And of course I'll be clapping for carers at 8 <applause>
Should be home from work by then.
