At the moment it is some workers. I may have been insensitive to your current predicament, I apologise. I should count myself lucky I get that financial security.

No need to apologise. I wasn’t upset by your comments.
I have been arguing, via email, with my company that if a business can furlough some of it’s staff, whilst keeping others on and continuing to trade, then why can’t key workers in my situation be furloughed.
Unfortunately the wording of the coronavirus job retention scheme specifically talks about people whose work is no longer there, being eligible.
It makes no allowance for people in my situation.
I am contacting so many bodies to see if clarification can be found, but pretty much they all refer back to the same guidance sheets, which don’t exclude essential businesses from using it.
What will be will be.

hope it works out for you Badger.

You seem to be feeling like I am now - We are where we are, whatever will be, will be. Let' get this over, and then seen how it is going to pan out.

I'm not going to stress about the future until it happens. Even then we will all adapt. It is crap, but that is the way it is atm.

Just go on career mode and hammer a couple of teams - that will make you feel better. My Saints team has a 96 rated Sancho, 95 rated Felix and they just annihilate anyone. Beat Liverpool 6-1 at Anfield. That was fun. :D

Na that's me done for tonight , smoke and film with the kids.

If anyone on here is bored in doors, or just trying to get the kids outside for a bit. Go and find the best insect bush in the garden/surrounding area and stand there for ten minutes monitoring who comes and goes. And I guarantee you will see at least five species of Bee, and three of Wasp's you haven't seen before. The solitary one's are doing quite well at the moment. Teach the children how important they are, and how good natured the Wasp (99%) really is, so they can grow up to become a non-flapper, and a bit of a creature lover.

This for me, is the only good thing to come from all this, little pickle and myself have been able to spend some great times in the garden, helped by the weather, I am able to teach her simple things that I had forgotten myself and she loves it. I would advise any of you with young children to get them away from screens if possible and discuss how important ants, wasps etc are.

My wife comes before my job.
If I have to go a month or two without pay, I will survive, but I am disappointed that my company, experiencing record sales, won’t do the same as Asda, and tell staff who are vulnerable, or caring for vulnerable people, to take 12 weeks off. Asda are doing it on full pay, but I would have settled for not having to ask my company if I could take time off.
I have never hidden my wife’s precarious health, from them, and have kept them up to date with her status.
I have never taken any time off, because of her, without it being prearranged and agreed by management, and even then it’s usually just 3 hours from my shift, when she has her quarterly appointment with the consultant- and even then I always offer to switch my day off so that the work isn’t impacted on.
In fact, until Easter, two years ago, my work was shared by two people, then my colleague resigned and wasn’t replaced.
By not replacing him they have saved more than £35000 in wages.

It’s at times like this that you find out a lot about the people you work for.

We all have a cross to burn. But I'm not going to moan on here all day about it. We've already lost 70% of our posters. It's hard work reading this page with people throwing mud constantly.
Yep. Have been restrained from posting on both this & politics thread because it’s just so biased (and has been for long long time) with no real dialogue. Just ****e throwing. Well I’m off now as well & doubt I’ll be back. Too many on here just moan

Hopefully it will be a bit of a boost to our local insect and bee population

The shut down has already been a welcome boast to the insect community, I can see changes already. It won't be a bright side for a lot of people, but it is to me. Perhaps with more time spent in gardens, the more people will grow to appreciate our wildlife............no matter how small.

We are part of nature too, even if we think of ourselves as somehow separate and different. We are dependent on a connected eco system, so anything that benefits insects, especially bees, will ultimately benefit us too. Though only if Mother Nature, in re-establishing the balance and harmony of all life on earth, decides there is still a place for us.

Dont leave for all the moaning - we are all just practising for when normality resumes and we can moan about having Danny Ings at left back and Shane long missing a sitter from 2 yards.
