Your arguments are as weak as piss.
The Govt has introduce near martial law, stopped folk from working, stopped folk from going to the pub, stopped folk from going for a meal and stopped folk from visiting their friends and relatives all because less than 1% of folk who catch the new virus will die.
What do they expect folk to do when it's a nice day? There's folk on social media moaning about "the streets are full - when will people learn!" as ordinary folk go for a walk instead of being cooped up indoors 24/7 - which is all in line with the Govt advice.
The charge is that these rules needed introduced to stop the health services from becoming overwhelmed.
We know from Italy that the median age of the dead is 78 and that over 90% of them had an underlying health problem, the solution is simple, those at risk should stay indoors.
It's astonishing that so many Brits are vengefully wanting the Govt to introduce stricter rules and fines to curb their fellow citizens without seeing the ramifications. Any one who has had any dealing with the police know that 99% of them are absolute weapons. Last thing they need is more ****ty laws to enforce and stop them from doing what they should be doing, catching criminal committing murders, stealing from private properties or raping kids.
The scientist at Imperial College whose advice forced the Govt to change tact produced a report that up to 500,000 British could die from Covid if the Govt didn't enforce social distancing. He then said it would be 20,000, now he's saying 5,000 will die.
This same guy produced a report in the 90s saying the the human form of BSE (mad cow disease) could kill 300,000. Here we are nearly 30 years later and only circa 300 have died.
At what cost do we protect the vulnerable in society and how far should the State go to keep its citizens "safe".
