For those that like art and have plenty of free time you might be interested in one of the free courses offered by the Museum of Modern Art, New York. The courses are on-line and include reading, videos and a test at the end of each topic. The courses are also free unless you want a copy of the certificate awarded at the end.

Here's the link

I have taken the graphs down because there are different figures being reported by some countries and this makes any graph useless.

My original objective was to challenge the statement made by the BBC reporter that we are 14 days behind Italy. We may have been at that point in time but that was not the same the very next day. We are not as bad as Italy and nothing like as bad as Spain.

None of which will make a jot of difference except that we may now have had the time to get better prepared for the tens of thousands who will need hospital treatment.

The cost of last weekends little jolly to the countryside and coast will be felt over the next week or so.

Keep doing them TOM. They are far more interesting than the rigged ones in the media.

In the news here, they claim in Switzerland, German Swiss have half the death rate of French Swiss and the French Swiss have half the death rate of Italian Swiss. The obvious conclusion is that it's to do with the Italian Swiss mixing more with Italians and so more likely to contract etc. but it also could be concluded that Germans are more resistant to death from the disease.

Maybe Adolf was right

Tough as old boots Dennis

Smith beats virus, but why was he in York?
Fittingly for a man who was once named in the Guinness Book of Records as the most injury-prone footballer in history after suffering five broken legs, Denis Smith has contracted, and overcome, coronavirus at the age of 72. A legend at Stoke, and a very decent manager elsewhere, Smith believes he caught the illness on a trip to York.
This is puzzling as Smith was once manager at York City where, early in his tenure, he gave an interview to a local newspaper. He was asked if there was anything he did not like about the city.

Yes, Smith replied, the bloody traffic and the bloody tourists. It made getting about a nightmare. In a city reliant on visitors this became a front page story. Cue angry calls from the tourist board to the club, cue outcry from hotels and restaurants, cue a very hasty apology. What seemed to be a throwaway comment turned out to be a very big deal in York.

But as anyone who has ever driven around there will confirm, Smith wasn't wrong. What he was doing back there, knowing what he knows — that's the mystery.

So we might not be getting Euro 2020 this summer... but we are getting Euro 96.

Also, as I've mentioned Euro 96, obligatory Three Lions

Humberside Police says it received a report of 2 men setting up a fake COVID-19 check point near Brandesburton earlier today - they stopped a motorist & urged her to pay an on the spot £60 fine. The force says it doesn’t have any check points in place across the region.

The thing is, just when you think humanity can't sink any further, you are proven wrong yet again. Smh ****ing scum and I'm sure there's worse out there as well.

Again the BBC states we are in a worse state than Italy. I simply cannot see it. In the 24 days since the first death in the UK we have had 791 deaths. Italy had 2158 in the first 24 days.

Not sure on the figures but are they basing it on cases to population ?

Certainly is, some scum broke into one of our local schools and stole all the food (including freezers) that was needed to feed the kids of key workers still having to send their kids to school. Lowest of the low.

Should round them all up after this is all over and have a real live edition of The Hunger Games, then do something equally as horrible to the winner. Or as my old man used to say when referring to the IRA - "line all of them up against a wall and shoot the bastards, its the only message they understand."

Probably doing a better job than Humberside Police

Some scumbag nicked a Doctor/Nurses bike in Nottingham. It was locked up in the staff bike shelter. He only found out having finished a 12 hr shift in ICU.

There are some absolute scumbags in society.
