Dan asked me to remove his account due to the nature of his new job. I understand that, completely reasonable request.

Obviously the virus outbreak is serious and dangerous though at what point will economic damage end up killing more people than the virus and inflicting long lasting suffering on 10s of millions of people?

Some try put it into the context of human beings vs profits, and that is a false framing of such a question.

At some point, the cure will do more harm than the disease. It's a really ****ty job of a balancing act to pull off, more deaths now vs even more deaths and suffering later.

I can't even 'like' that. Absolute scum of the earth if this is true.

Yeah, I got one of those about an hour ago. Just as I was getting ready to leave for work. If you click the link, the info is quite helpful.

I didn't say he had left mate. I'm more saying the guy hasn't been around, and I hope he is ok. Just because his account was accessed on the 15th March, does not neccessarily mean it was him that accessed it, if his device was left signed on. It just seems really unusual for him not to come on a thread like this.

It's a fair question and will largely depend on how the government manages financial support for all as well as expectations.

If people start becoming homeless or ppl suffer significant hardship and the social constructs of society start breaking down then fck knows what the answer is!

except he hasn't sacked anyone at all, he's said everything is going to be delayed, as it will be, due to the govt shutting everything down. He also says he can totally understand if poeple don't want to wait for the govt to allow the pubs to reopen and decide to get a job at tesco, who are still open.

That isn't sacking everyone and telling them to go to Tesco but that wouldn't make a sensational headline

So the employees have no job to go to, have no pay, bonuses cancelled and no fixed date to get paid. Sounds like they're definitely not sacked <rofl>

Did you not read the screenshot I posted?

He's behaving appallingly. It's indefensible what he's doing. These right wing libertarian chancers got their man into Downing Street - but now that their man is reverting to his One Nation Tory roots, and urging businesses to do the decent thing, they're ignoring him.

We all saw and heard Boris say to businesses, "Stand by your staff, and we will stand by you."

Why can't Tim Spoon Face **** treat his staff the same as Costa are treating their's?

I wondered why the girls in Costa in Finsbury Park all looked happy yesterday when they told me they were getting ready to shut down. Tell you what, their coffee is ****ing rank, but I'll be giving them my custom in future anyway. Wetherspoon's can **** off.
