Aye, 100%. Thing is, plod, going by the many videos of them on YT in action, all too often interpret the law for themselves to fit their disposition/ego/wantsat that time and place
It's kinda concerning when plod feels they can just order you back to your home

I can do, but it won't help anyone as I quoted Paul Lewis on Money Box on BBC News. This is the only thing I can find now where he's quoted the Treasury but you'll need to scroll down to his replies.

I'm getting a bit tired of the news broadcasters constantly reporting what I see as negative news over informative information or asking questions to that effect on the general publics behalf. Yet again this morning they have shown old footage of empty shelves in supermarkets, I consider this scare mongering and completely unhelpful to the situation. If the shelves are still empty, then wouldn't it be better to contact politicians and ask the questions regarding what is being done, either via increased employee numbers or the army. We need to know what the plans are to move us forward, not pictures of empty shelves from days ago, it's irresponsible reporting while people are being forced to remain home.

I haven't been able to get any oats since the UK went mental, I'm missing my morning banana and sultana spiced porridge.

No lie, I've got a huge bag of oats but not much milk, and I've decided cups of tea are more important than porridge in a crisis. <whistle> #BritishMentality

Yet more evidence the media is not fit for purpose, ie just reporting the facts.

Empty shelves are up to this point nothing more than stock going out faster than the warehouses can restock the stores. Media reports on empty shelves implies an actual supplies problem rather than what it is, a temporary logistics problem.

Empty shelves reports = more panic buying. Irresponsible.

Would it be wrong during this national dilemma to admit I have some cream for coffee? :bandit:

I went the opposite way, I couldn't find any oats so just bought milk, I have about a gallon in the fridge. Have bought some granola, so going to experiment with that. Going to soaking it in milk for half an hour then steam cook it.

    Not just British, I agree.

I remember one story from WWII in France. British company caught in open fields by German stonk (sudden intense brief mortar attack). The chaps took a bad beating and heavy casualties, crawled through fields back to their positions, and put the kettle on.

Those men were the best of us.
