Yeah

Yeah, youd think so ... but her mum was taking her (who she doesn't live with) so I can look after the eldest daughter.

Unless told otherwise you'll be fine to go. I'd say it's upto you as a family to decide whether your partner goes with her mum or not. Otherwise you might have to take little one.

I'd say that's an essential need anyway personally. All the best with it anyway mate whatever you decide, and congrats :)

In Canada, where they've clamped down, they've left the booze and weed stores open. I'm all for a maximalist response, but you gotta have something to pass those days.

Yeah I'm going to have to be careful to not fall into a habit of evening drinking. Definitely gonna need some bud.

I hope the senior managers will now let everyone who can work from home do so .

I’m doing it but not enjoying it , there are people who can and want to , but not allowed . Well up until this evening that is .
I can't do my job from home. I'm a butcher in a frozen meat factory. Supplying the nation with **** that will sit in the freezer for 2 years. All of our office staff and 90% of management are working from home.

Does an optician qualify as non essential, or do they come under a “medical need”?
People waiting for new glasses, maybe their first pair, would probably argue that they do.
I have a vested interest in this area, as Specsavers audiology section are making me a new hearing aid, to replace a damaged aid, that should be ready in the next day or so.
Living without hearing well isn’t good.

Thanks Libs, what a time to do it, eh? <laugh>

I think she's stressing herself out because her mum has now refused to take her (meaning I'll take her & stay in the car with the daughter), so she's facing doing it alone as apparently kids aren't allowed in the hospital? Not sure how true that is.

Edit: Not allowed in the scan rooms, which checks out.

I was called in to my opticians today to pick up a pair of glasses. I said I was going into town tomorrow anyway, so could it wait until then? No, they said, we’re closing indefinitely today. I would check with Specsavers first thing!

I haven't smoked weed with any regularity for a dozen years. Might pick up an eighth if we get shut down here soon. Spoke with my apt management, and apparently they're planning to look the other way if people violate the "no weed indoors" prohibition for the next bit, heh.

I had an eye test with Leighton in Poole on weds .

It has been cancelled as they are only working on emergency stuff . So Leighton s is open for essential stuff .

Like Chilco said , check with them ASAP .

So screw anyone that works in a supermarket. Grin and bear it.

At some point, once a serum test is readily available to determine who has already recovered from the virus and we know (hopefully) that people cannot get reinfected, the best option is likely going to be to cycle supermarket workers out bit-by-bit and temporarily replace them with individuals who have recovered and are displaced from other industries, for the safety of everyone involved.

I spoke to someone earlier but couldn’t get a definitive answer, other than my hearing aid was at the end of the process, which means finished.
I am hoping that it will be posted, if needs must.

I'm only an occasional smoker these days but will definitely be partaking a fair bit over the coming weeks/months. I'd actually go as far as saying it's going to be a neccesity.
