Yeah i knew all about that a week or two back, I saw the video.

Italy also has a high proportion of several generations in one home compared to the rest of Europe. Young bring it home to grandparents too.
That tiny period of 3 weeks has smashed them, its mental how fast they were overwhelmed.

That can happen here or the UK, it certainly can.

Everyone with at risk relatives should have some sort of system to work by to keep them quarantined and supplied.

If we had some way of protecting those at risk, the economic self destruction could stop now, I don't see any other reason why the lockdown. Would it be cheaper to actually use resources to protect at risk older people than put most of the country out of work and pay their wages and bail companies out?

Supplied with what?

Mothers day tomorrow (oops today), it's when all the virus carriers visit their elderly mothers.

Oh and in case you haven't seen the news, now 20 & 30 year olds in Italy are falling seriously ill and in need of ventilators....yup the youngsters aint so safe now.

I know it's mothers day..Cos aswell as being havoc with this virus, we've had ****ing 1000s of boxes of flowers to sort.

Thank **** they've finished, and can concentrate on food....But the supply chain is in serious danger.

Indonesia finally starting to take it seriously. They are starting mass testing of the people they have traced who have had contact with the 300 positive cases to date - its over 500000 people! Epicentre of the outbreak is where I live and work so we are all on hime working for at least the next two weeks.

Still no bog roll shortages.

Give it time, son.

The shortages will appear suddenly over night, like a chronic case of diarrhoea after one of Skiddy’s dodgy dog-meat curries.

I doubt it given it's the world largest muslim population in any one country. I doubt they're running out in Saudi either.

Bottom line is (pun intended) they don't really need it. They wash after going.

And then in addition they wash hands, arms, feet, face etc 5 times a day for prayers. I haven't seen the figures but I expect that's massively reduced the rate of infection by default.

Having said that, the muslim culture is to live with and support your elders so I expect that's increased the risk for them.

Spot on. Although my Mrs still seems to get through vast amounts even though she doesnt use it for cleaning her arse.

She is currently in UK but have her 83year old mother living with me at the moment so trying to be extra careful here.

I had asked to be banned so not sure what happened there .

While I can still post I would just like to say .

Seeing advice everywhere not least here , I won’t be going to see my mum today .

Difficult decision but my head says the right one .

as I am classed as vulnerable I will be staying at home .

Mrs J will pop to my mum as we have a load of shopping for her .

my mum will stay in the front room while Mrs J takes the shopping in , then when Mrs J has left she will just carry on .

Stay safe everyone .

The pictures of deserted streets in India are surreal.

Government suggested everyone stay home for a day and the whole countries gone into voluntary lock down.

And to you.

I know this may sound like overkill but if she can use an alcohol wipe on her hands before entering and take the plastic bags away after emptying the shipping she will reduce the risk.

The virus can survive on plastic indoors for days.
