Cos so many of our kids can not cope with change we are keeping on with our teaching but we work in a way that means kids do 20 or 30 mins work and then choosing time for 10 or 15 minutes.

Tbh most of them are stressed at being in school cos the hear the news and adults at home talking but if anything, their behaviour has become calmer.
I think they are feeling reassured by us which is a lovely silver lining on a ****ing big dark cloud.

I think you're spot on with the regular PAYE employees. But I don't think it will be the case for many businesses that employ agency workers, zero hour contract workers where their businesses have gone completely kapoot. Even those that are still operating but have no income coming in. Especially as many have already laid off thousands of people already.

Sunak should have done this a week ago when businesses weren't hit by the recent measures. It's a lot like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted imo.

Tbh a LOT of school will remain open, simply because there are so many key workers.
People tend to think of all NHS staff, firefighters and Police but as is being shown by this cleaners, refuse workers, delivery drivers, warehouse staff, shop workers, truck drivers, teaching staff street cleaners, pest control workers, and many other jobs (many previously looked down upon) are being shown to be key jobs in running our society.

    Hope everyone is doing ok

just like the supermarket online delivery drivers are now vital or else we will still keep congregating in shops in close proximity to one another and god knows how many of the checkout staff have been infected it really doesn't bear thinking about .

Ok, for those of you out there in the know, where will the government get the money from to pay people's wages?

Would they seriously print money and if so what effect will that have on our economy after this is all over.

    Please no political responses.

See this is the point I'm making. An outdoor street market and food hall as well as hotels being reported on BBC News right now are saying within 36 hours of Boris's statement on monday for people to "avoid" pubs, restaurants, cafes etc they laid off 85% of their staff.

There is NO business for the hospitality trade. Those people are already laid off. This grant to cover 80% income will do fck all for those workers.

Yeah but it dosen't really answer my question, I was looking for more detail than that. For example, does the government have the money to pay out everything it has promised, how will they go about obtaining that money (printing it!). Basically where is the magic money tree.

Not these days as the APIs don't work that way. Plenty in the past, Doom and football manager came hidden in one of our old systems.

With regard to the idiot panic shoppers, we had the same **** last week over here when the gov announced the school closures etc. Place went bonkers and totally unnecessary. Let the plebs shop themselves out, and from experience here, all the shops were fully restocked 2 days later and have been since. <ok>
