People can't disagree, see how toxic and argumentative it gets?

This ain't political, all the government's are reacting the same, people need to stop being so tribal.

That's the point no one is saying who started it or blaming ...... Its the professional approach we want where we get clear informative information and that's been missing no matter who is in charge............. If this isn't a matter for us to discuss then so be it.

They're not all reacting the same though. Ours seems to be taking it less seriously than most others.

China obviously released Corona-chan the moment the UK 2019
election result guaranteed the UK would be leaving the EU.

Sure, you would have a serious pandemic as a by-product of infecting
the UK, but that would be a small price to pay for overturning the
referendum result. < thinks some remoaner libtard somewhere >

I genuinely fail to see where we've taken it less seriously?

I sat and watched the statements yesterday evening and thought; seems fair enough. I don't see how having us all sat at home behind closed doors at this stage helps anything? It just moves the peak to later on, when we all emerge into the sun (or rain probably) and start getting and passing the virus on again.

Most of us need to keep working and keep the wheels moving for as long as we can, from what I can see everyone is taking it very seriously. The statement and reasoning given to the approach seemed logical to my mind, why would we know any better? Any scientists amongst us? Russel Brand aside of course.

    No, thought not.

As for the small businesses etc, we'll have to see what follows on whether and what help they are given. It's scandalous if not but one thing at a time, I currently assume.

If you tell all people that they can not go out and eat in restaurants and pubs though, they will definitely close down, and so will the economy as a whole as it will just cause mass panic.

You have to draw a fine line between absolute panic stations and trying to keep some normality. I think some have pressed the big red button to batten down the hatches, some are opting for relative normality. I recognise many people want schools and nurseries to be closed, but, that's happened elsewhere and just resulted in many 16-18 year olds hanging around outside all day as opposed to staying at home as they've been told. Countries who have closed schools have seen infections increase at a completely normal rate as those with kids in schools.

Long term economic affects are also on everyone's mind, some countries have to try and keep the ball rolling and money flowing. Germany is reacting quite similarly to the UK, imagine if they tried to quarantine, not a single net contributor with the euro would be conducting business.

I know people have a gut reaction of "**** it's serious, DO SOMETHING." But I think what we are doing is a generally solid response to try and keep people's lives moving for as long as possible.

The long term economic affects of France, Spain and Italy closing will be massive for the Eurozone in my opinion, as it would be in the UK if everything shut.
