Evening all get the feeling this may not go ahead emergency legislation early next week on the virus suspect large gatherings will be banned hopefully not played behind closed doors but postponed
Wouldn’t surprise me; it’ll be like a pack of cards once the first match is postponed. Watching the PSG fans tonight as wanted to see the 2nd leg after such a fantastic 1st leg but switched over to Liverpool after 10 minutes as just couldn’t enjoy it. I’d rather matches be postponed than play in front of no fans.
On Wednesday night we will be showing highlights around 10 pm of our expected 6-0 victory over Cardiff
Not a problem fella. We'd all be the same. As I recall, the 6-0 was when we were hoping to hold on to a top six spot, so I had our now hopefully only delayed encounter, as an opportunity for some revenge. Although that sounds really negative, of course it would give our own chances a boost. Who knows what will happen now as there has to be a risk of the whole season being made null and void. Interesting days and weeks ahead.
Clingo - I can only remember the 6-0......... As far as that one went it was a disaster for us that season, but the result didn't do Preston lot a lot of good and hasn't done ever since. We've been up the Prem twice since then and Preston have been down in League One in the same period. Not trying to make a point of course...........
Ironically only a few days before that 9-0 hammering we’d beaten Middlesbrough 5-3 in what’s famously known as ‘Farrell’s Match’. Stayed up by the skin of our teeth that year! (65-66).
Anyway hopefully see you on the other side of this heard a rumour EFL announcement tonight stay safe folks
What a game that was. Greg Farrell decided he fancied a game of football and pretty much did for 'boro on his own. In my opinion he was the most exciting player in the country on his day but woeful when he was off it. I was stood in the corner of the Bob Bank and Grange End when he gave his masterclass. On that showing, George Best at his best would pale into insignificance. And yes, a couple of days later we go and get suffed at Deepdale. I wasn't there for that, so you can't blame me.
Farrell’s performance that night was the greatest I’ve ever seen in a City shirt. But, like you say, he was very inconsistent. A strange fact of that match was that Boro’s 3 goals were all scored by their centre half, Dickie Rooks, later of the Wurzels.
Always knew that fully functioning Bluebirds would do for dickie rooks. Bit of ornithology for you there.
Or "Fingers" Farrell as I think he later became. His birthday in a couple of days - Happy Birthday mate.
