    Ok.

Perhaps I'm just sick of the general 'we're doing it wrong and everyone else is right' tone that's out there currently.

And I don't mean on here specifically, I mean out there in the world of media.

Non of us are experts, we need to stop pretending we are.

The whole pint is to protect healthcare. Other countries with lesser systems may need to be more extreme before us. If people are responsible then we can slow the spread to ensure people that need care can have it. Italy is ****ed their health care system is overrun. Ours as yet isn’t . If people take this seriously then we can get through it.

I don’t want to get it. So am being as responsible as I can whilst trying to be normal. Yes I’ve stocked up but I’ve done it slowly in a measured way without bulk buying.

Rule number one for prepping never tell anyone your prepping....... Instead paint an infected inside sign on your front and back door

I've got family out in Sweden at the moment, sounds like they are having a good time when I spoke to them today. I'm at home quietly worrying if they are going to get back home!

We've just set up a support group in my area to support the vulnerable elderly and self isolaters. You've probably seen those help cards online. We're using that as a template and we've got around 50 volunteers who've agreed to help already, hopefully more will join.

I've been speaking with some of my local councillors, they've got an emergency meeting tomorrow, so hopefully they can help to coordinate all of this too and give us the resources we need, face masks, hand sanitiser etc. Spoke to my GP friend earlier today and she basically said that the time for social distancing and self isolation for the elderly is NOW. The govt are dragging their heels and the opportunity to limit the spread is quickly diminishing.

Here in Cornwall we have 21 ICU beds. My friend anticipates that we will need hundreds. I asked whether the GP surgeries would be able to assist in helping us to identify needs for those at risk, she said their protocols are coming down to things like who gets oxygen and who doesn't. I really felt for her, the GP's and health care workers are going to have to make some hideous decisions over the coming weeks and months.

    Sobering stuff.

I'd urge you all please if you have elderly relatives to encourage them to self isolate now, don't wait for the Govt to tell you to do so. They can still go out for walks, drive in the car etc. But the over 70's shouldn't be going anywhere near Supermarkets, Pubs, Cafes, or any places where large numbers of people congregate.

I'd also please urge you all to look out for your neighbours and offer whatever support you can. It's going to get really bumpy over the coming weeks....

I'm not one for colder places, although I'm sure it's very nice. Fook doing Comms job and working in a fridge everyday!

"Australian Associated Press is reporting that Woolworths, one of Australia’s two big supermarket chains, will open its doors only to the elderly and disabled for an hour on Tuesday morning."

<applause> so a shop finally does something more than write a letter saying "please consider maybe not panic buying"

    Great post mate.

What you’re doing is what’s going to be required imo, unfortunately not every area has that level of community spirit. They’re too busy hoarding bog rolls and pasta after queuing for 4 hours at Costco.

Hopefully your wrong but like yourself the same has been done around my village all are up for helping if needs be and the vulnerable will hopefully feel less vulnerable.

Unless of course they don't have a TV and seeing the letter that's come through thy letter box was the first they heard of any killer virus and die of a fking heart attack instead.

I'm lucky that I live in a community where folk look out for each other. We also have a (relatively) small number of people living here, although it's over represented with older people living alone. For me this whole thing is about pragmatism, I'm not interested in arguing with people about what might or might not happen, and I'm not going to get into a panic reaction over any of it. There is a basic need on the ground to get food and provisions to people, I'm fit and healthy enough to help, so that's what I'll do.

**** knows what's going to happen to my business, as I think markets and events are pretty much finished for the next few months. I'm going to have to look into what financial support is available for self employed people, I think it's just basic Universal credit, so it's probs beans on toast for me for a while (if there are any baked beans left on the shelves)

Mate of mine turned up at my door at 10 this morning wearing women’s clothes. He was still smashed an thought it would be funny to nick her clothes wear them and leave. I’ve never seen a 17st man wearing **** like this. Whilst being slightly aroused I made him a cup of tea got him out my house and bleached everything .
