At the end of the day whether they self isolated or not they didn't play on regardless and now the decision not to play has been made for everyone so their actions or lack of haven't altered anything.

Just read an article saying by far the preferred option by the leagues is to finish this campaign whenever that may be.

Their decision might have altered the health and lives of Arsenal FC employees.

Or do only the lives of Arteta and his first XI count?

I've been telling the people on the coronavirus thread that the league will be finished with Liverpool champions for ages but they're in denial and [HASHTAG]#meltdown[/HASHTAG] over it.

They cancelled the game because they thought there might be coronavirus.

They tested no one.

Arteta got sick so they tested him and found out he had it.

If I worked for Arsenal and got sick because they couldn't be bothered testing or isolating even though that was their reason for cancelling a game then I would sue the **** out of them.
They cancelled the game on Weds, Arteta was confirmed as having the virus yesterday.

Your attempted angle on this is absolutely ludicrous.

It's not an "angle". Arsenal released a statement that they would not test anyone. Changed their tune when Arteta started coughing. Disgraceful.

They didn't need to "test" anyone since there is no point in doing so (no vaccine). They actually did the right thing in cancelling their game and taking 14 days to see if any symptoms developed.

Stick to stats and reading match reports.

Absolutely not. If you have known exposure to a [HASHTAG]#confirmed[/HASHTAG] infected person then you test and isolate. Arsenal did not.

If they don't finish this season then they won't finish next season when the virus breaks out again. That would be insane.

If the league gets to finish then Liverpool will most certainly be champions, if however the league gets cancelled then things will re-start in August at the same point it did in August 2019 and this season will be void.

If it comes around again next year (like most things do) then a **** lot of people will already have built immunity to it from this year and the spread/threat will be minimal. There will also probably be a vaccine by then <ok>

And you know this how? The Prem themselves have said there are no rules nor precedent for it. That the Euros will be cancelled nearly a month after the virus is expected to have peaked in Europe could just as easily indicate that they intend to finish leagues (and the CL) in July and August and start 2020/21 late (Maybe without any domestic cup competitions). We just don't know. Nor indeed do we know that Astro is wrong in saying they'll just say, as in musical chairs, that it ends where it stops. Both scenarios are equally as viable as what you've proposed, if not more.

I assume you have interacted with at least a few people in the last week (some of which you had no idea of their status virus wise), have you been tested yet?

They had [HASHTAG]#confirmed[/HASHTAG] contact with a known infected person.

If your boss comes in and says "I just had a meeting with a confirmed infected person so let's cancel our meeting with my best mate's company just in case but keep all other business as usual" you'd be okay with that?

Of course there are no precedents but how do you see it going?

Oh, Liverpool had a massive lead so we will call them champions,
The three at the bottom with 27 points left to play for and only 8 points or goal difference from safety, tough **** we will call them relegated.
Top 4 with any of 5 teams in with a chance of CL and all the revenue it brings, leave it as it is now.

There would be never ending court cases from clubs who lost their status in the PL or were robbed of money from possible European runs.

100% this, said it already... and I said it last week too!

Interested to see what happens if the season is abandoned...

Go as things stand and relegate the current bottom three? Can't see them three accepting that; likely to require large compensation to avoid court cases.

Cancel the season and restart when it's suitable? Can't see the Championship clubs going for promotion being too happy; likely to require large compensation to avoid court cases.

Resume the season when the all clear is given? Who participates the Europe next season?

Maybe the whole of Europe (or the world) will be shut down. However, football will just be on hold in this instance and resume once the all clear success.

Lads....the situation is bigger than football. My dad is a very high risk.....you think I give a flying F#ck if we win the league when his life is at stake?

JK nailed it today. His message was 100% right. Let’s hope that the season can be played out after the sh*tstorm but ultimately, many people will lose loved ones and football will not be remotely on their minds.

I’ll likely not be on here until footy starts again so wish you all well and hope you and families stay safe <ok>. Even you Diego <laugh>

Which other clubs are Arsenal going to play?

You do not see the irony in that statement do you, especially given that your chosen outcome, made with such unwarranted certainty (just where did you get that from? Red Café? The Sun?) would produce more court cases than all the others put together?
