Like any democratic organisation, CASTrust are only as good as their members. Anyone who thinks they could do better should join and put themselves forward as board members. You'd have to do the more mundane day-to-day stuff unpaid though, not just the tough-guy stuff in a crisis like this. They've done their bit, now it's up to the rest of the fans to do our bit.

we have had this old refrain before I’m afraid.

Just for the record, yesterday I was loosely involved along with others in trying to get fans with a more appropriate skill set into the meeting with CAST. Can you guess the response ? They are a bunch of pompous old farts. I wouldn’t employ any of them to sweep the leaves in my garden - assuming they had the energy to do it. Yesterday was their golden chance on behalf of all fans to pin the liar. Where were the follow up questions ? Why wasnt the Range Rover issues or the parking fines or the credit card bills raised ? It’s all very well saying join in yourself but in the real world people have jobs although yes ....those who offered to assist CAST yesterday also offered to take time off work.
 
Fair play to you and anyone who tries, but as we found out with Douchatelet, the fans are f*cked against a **** but determined owner. I hope there is a car park protest next Tuesday, I'll be there, but realistically the only way Charlton will be saved if if Nimer forces Southall out, then turns out to be OK himself. The EFL must also bear responsibility for passing ESI as fit and proper owners.
 
It seems the EFL imposed the transfer embargo almost from day one of the takeover. I can't get my head round this. They need to explain.

Looks like they approved takeover subject to 'Proof of Funds' and then stipulated that until the PoF was provided Charlton couldn't sign new players... which explains why new loans were all replacements of existing loans.

So if no proof of funds is forthcoming, what next?
 
So Mouthall knew you couldn't sign any players, but still had you going with the Maddison fake offer and the transfer deadline day stuff - what a wrong un <doh>
 
If AHLL is right it seems you don't really have to provide proof of funds to get past the EFL. If the club goes to the wall they will be culpable, and so will Nimer. Not that that lets Southall off the hook, he is the main culprit, but if Nimer has the funds it would not be in Southall's interest to hold back the proof. Au contraire, if he could make big signings he could award himself even more lavish expenses. So messy.

I fear it's just the tip of the iceberg mate.
The fees, car and flat are the things you know about - I'm sure there's load you don't as yet!!
