City and Arsenal are off tonight as a precaution due to the coronavirus. We have 6 points to get before we can't be caught.

Should all matches for all clubs now be played behind closed doors, including the Euro matches? We want everyone, players, fans and officials, to be safe, so is it time?

I think someone has already said this but it wont matter if we have won it if they abandon the season
That said someone else said even coronavirus wouldnt catch us
So who knows
 
This Corona stuff is really puzzling us down here in Africa. There is actually a joke that we suspect the virus is inherently racist. We have corruption,total lack of planning yet for some reasons, all cases reported are of Caucasian people and absolutely no dark skinned folk. Having said that, we have had more lethal viruses in Ebola and got through so this corona thing may be a bit overblown.

At the risk of saying me mate
But just had a discussion with someone down at the academy of a local EFL club

I am now bracing myself for the season to be abandoned. Apparently there have been loads of discussions regarding the rest of the season in the past 48 hours. The title is not being discussed as an issue. From what I have “heard” it is the promotion and relegation issues. She was saying that it is changing by the hour but the abandonment of the season whilst obviously not definite is very very high on the list possible/probable outcomes. Also this is EFL not prem
No idea on CL or Euros :(

whilst I know it is nothing new it is clear it is now high on the agenda
If it is being considered in EFL it has to be being looked at in prem - surely ?

less likely in PL imo simply due to the obligation to the broadcasters and the financial implications if they withhold the monies due for cancelled games .The real fly in the ointment is if staff / players start testing positive then all bets are off .

if they abandon the season the wait probably continues for the title as most likely outcome would be the season being declared null & void .

It’s a mess and I don’t like saying this but it feels like a massive over reaction
We lose more daily across the globe to rabies
There is something about this that just does not feel right but I can’t put my finger on it.

Seriously, I think we just have to wait and see. As I said earlier, people do love a crisis so the response could be an over-reaction - or it could turn out to be justified.
I still think the mortality demographic is confined to the usual young, old, and low-immunity categories that we see in all flu epidemics but who knows what the final outcome will be?

City and Arsenal is only off because Arsenal exposed their first team. They should just be forced to play a youth team.

For the general public, there is no significant increase in risk associated with going to the stadium. An open stadium with seating is safer than a packed pub.
 
See Gary Lineker is loving it. Spent half the season trying to say it was only because of VAR that we were going to win it, now he's praying coronaVARis (geddit???) is going to save them from us getting acclaimed as champions. Utter nonsense - they just need to extend the season into June/July and cancel international tournaments till next year. Think we'll be out the CL tonight anyway, I'm afraid. Hope I'm wrong. :emoticon-0138-think
 
If the PL gets cancelled how confident are you lot that you’ll carry your form into next season and be able to win the title?

Could be the chance clubs like City need to strengthen and be back on form...

It would be seriously unlucky to be so dominant in the league and end up with no title!
 
I dont think we would win the league until the Aston villa home game. Which being the 12th April is a whole month of more **** to go down

I think it's best you don't put your finger on it. But if you do, wash your hands afterwards!
