btw, just for future reference, in hull, the football team is generally referred to as hull city or city, and never as hull. this is due to the pre-existence of one of the two local rugby league teams, i.e, hull. so the three are known as hull, rovers, and city. although to much of the world hull means hull city, its use that way does bother some people hereabouts, though personally i think hull city fans should embrace this and accept that hull means hull city rather than a team in a minority sport.
Sorry but I never refer to my team as Hull . It's always City or on Sunday the name would be Hull City.
and i never do and i don't expect any other city supporters to. and that's not what i was saying. some people - city fans - have been known to get spiky when people who wouldn't be expected to know the reason refer to city as "hull". i've seen it on thread after thread over the last 20 years on an assortment of city websites. what i'm saying is that when the word "hull" is mentioned, we should want and expect the first thought in the heads of people across the world to be about our football team.

Quite right too. For many many decades it's been Hull, Rovers and City. Some stupid ****s in the late 70s or early 80s started referring to Hull as 'FC' What kind of special cretin refers to his team as 'Football Club'? It's too daft for words
