That stat isn’t correct. We import 1.1m tonnes of BOTH the raw materials and the finished product. Andrex for example is manufactured here, but relies on the raw materials from overseas.

So we are spending less than a pound per tonne?
have you any idea how many toilet rolls/tissues can be made out of a tonne roll?
People must have found some really cheap stuff somewhere, when you take into account processing, wrapping and centre tubes the manufacturers must be making a massive loss.

No, I'm saying people associated the virus with China because it's been widely reported that it's down to a food market infection over there.

Chinese people over here are going to be suffering by association. There have been loads of random reports of Asians getting grief.

The Italian situation is much more recent. I also doubt that even the stupidest people in this country think that Asda's own brand pasta is made in Italy.

Fair play, my knowledge of the toilet paper manufacturing capacity of this country was based on a random article I read ages ago on the risks of no-deal Brexit. When I googled it, that article came up, which, to be fair, would make sense as imports would still be ****ed if it happened.

Yes, that’s right. It was being stockpiled pre the ‘no deal’ dates, by manufacturers and consumers alike. As iirc we only carry less than a fortnights worth of product / materials at any one time.

Neither did he, and you queried the figure in the C&P of the article he posted. The market size in the U.K. is £1.1BN. Happy to help.

It was obviously an article he held great store in otherwise he wouldn't have used it to make a point.

If it was a C&P then the article was total bullshit like so many others posted on here but people read and believe without a second thought or question.

    It’s what he does.

    It’s about all he does.

Pedantry and crap attempts at point scoring.

He’s also extremely **** at it.

The article was flawed, but the basic premise of the vast majority of our bog rolls relying on imports of either product or raw materials is an actual fact.

As usual you have no point. As you’re literally - pointless.
