They are a lot better at it than Ehab Allam. Surely you’ve spotted that by now.

Sometimes with justification. High justification in this case if you ask me. It almost seems our current manager is devoid of self esteem given his unrelenting defence/denial of his own personal performance. Blinded by the (spot) light.

All three of those teams have been in league one in recent times, no?

The owners will have significantly less financial skin in the game If the next 9 games are anything like the last 11.

Also anyone to say supporters have no skin in the game clearly doesn't pay for his own tickets and transport.

Millwall sacked a club legend and got rowett in. Slutsky was left field and could have been a huge success. Only have to look at Nigel Pearson to see how it works at some clubs and not others.
The good chairman will see when it’s not working with a manager. Maybe it’s good he’s showing this support for his manager but we all think he’s wrong. Then again 70% of this board wanted brucey sacked during his successful run to the play offs and return to the pl.
so maybe we all know nothing

I think you and I are having a slight communication issue. Maybe it's me, maybe it's you, maybe both of us, but you're interpreting a lot of what I have written in a manner that is different from my intention.

When I wrote 'financial skin in the game', it was regarding a financial interest in the sport. Not spending money on it.

Owners are stakeholders, customers are too in any business, especially football because sales account for a greater proportion of club income the lower down the pyramid you fall.

OK, that's fine. I'll try again. By 'financial skin in the game', I meant a professional income/investment derived from it.

What do you think is derived from supporters investing in a membership?

Ah but when the debt was 100 million we were in a better position with more valuable assets, now we're in a much worse position in real danger of it getting a whole load worse and have virtually no assets of any worth. Some how we are still minus 50 million, I bet he's ****ting himself a whole lot more these days.

GMc is earning an income from the business. A financial skin I think from your latest definition.
Is he adding shareholder value to the business (success), aiding in retention in customer base or building an investment in quality of product ?

I think you're nit-picking over not so important points. My post we are discussing referred to the fact that most commenting on this thread don't have a financial income derived from the game. Most will spend some of their income on the game, but not be professionally invested in it, looking for a financial return.

Insanity mate, which is right on with the Allam’s, probably why they appear to love McCann!

The point is the relationship between football professionals and supporters is symbiotic. One is dependent on the other.

I don't know what you were trying to prove by trying to make a distinction, but without fans there is no club, and without financial contributions from fans there are no paid professionals.

Whether mccann turns it around or is replaced he'll get paid according to his current contract regardless and be free to take employment elsewhere.

So you're right, I don't see what point you were trying to make, but suggesting that the supporters who fund the professionals wages somehow shouldn't have an opinion or don't have a stake in the success of the club is naive.

At no point have i suggested that supporters can't have opinions. I have written that the majority-held opinion on this matter is wrong, in my opinion, and tried to explain my reasoning why.

I don't know what half of that means, but to try and answer some of it - I am Norwegian now due to time spent here, but was born in Hull to foreign parents, father was a doctor at HRI for many decades, and lived in Hull (Anlaby) for the first 18 years of my life.

Which is fine. I'll take no pleasure from seeing a young manager lose his job and had the situation been less perilous I'd wish him every opportunity to turn it around.

That said, I'm not blind to the current form, the nature of the defeats and lack of any indication things might change. I believe his position is becoming less tenable with every game.
