True. But I imagine they will still have to present their case to CAS won't they?To a large extent it is now out of UEFA's hands .

Its mainly a written presentation of the existing evidence which is then pored over by CAS & there is then a hearing with lawyers which is a 1 day hearing apart from exceptional circumstances iirc .True. But I imagine they will still have to present their case to CAS won't they?
Part of the reason for the ban was that they refused to cooperate with the investigation. If they have "irrefutable evidence" now, why didn't they present it at the appropriate time? This in itself is a sign of arrogance or guilt, or both, and the ban should be upheld for that alone, imo.
Like others, I think their defiance is a bluff - born of outrage that anyone dares to interfere with them. This is an expected attitude from people who go through life getting exactly what they want all the time and are unused to being thwarted.
Their usual method is just to buy off people who oppose them - allegedly.
I do wonder whether UEFA has the balls to stand up to them, as in the past it's hardly shown itself to be the incorruptible institution it ought to be.
If I was accused of something based on incomplete evidence, I'd be anxious to show the full picture as soon as possible in order to exonerate myself.Given that the entire investigation was based on selective stolen emails then their reticence to cooperate was understandable from a legal perspective.

Tbh, I don't trust any of the parties involved here.
I reckon the language used is a bluff tbh, these guys are not used to being told what to do and have enough money to deal with any problems usually.
As far as im aware they are bang to rights on the financial doping. Their argument is the evidence against them was obtained illegally.
Im no hiag but im confident a ban will be given, i think thats why uefa gave them 2years, to cover any reductions.
Im guessing a years ban.
Where does it leave the game if although guilty of finacial doping, they get off on a technicality.
For me that sends the message that teams can cheat by pumping endless cash into clubs but be more careful about getting caught from now on?
Whats your take if they receive no punishment?
The difference is they are under an obligation to fully co operate with the investigatory body unlike in a criminal case - see Suns (Chinese swimmer) 7 year ban from CAS for non co operation with doping officers .Happens all the time in criminal law too, unfortunately. Any slight deviation from process and the defence will use it to case doubt on the continuity of the evidence gathered. They also try to highlight how it damages the credibility of the case.
Why?As you know I like Jose but that was uncomfortable viewing today imho
I don't disagree. I am just saying that finding a technicality to get the case thrown out is very common. The difference is they are under an obligation to fully co operate with the investigatory body unlike in a criminal case - see Suns (Chinese swimmer) 7 year ban from CAS for non co operation with doping officers .
oh don't get me wrong City will have teams of lawyers poring over the EUFA evidence looking for flaws just hope EUFA have done it by the book as they were determined top get City having beenI don't disagree. I am just saying that finding a technicality to get the case thrown out is very common.

Yeah he is a bad loser - like really badI cant stand him mate.
Hate bad losers and hes one of the worst in the business.
Glad he's a washed up manager at a bang average team. Fully deserves it.![]()
Yep I can see that but as I say never bothered me but I do work with kids a lot and when they act like that it amuses me lolIt's none of that for me. Winding up the opposition is fair enough, although a little irresponsible when this stuff can spill over into violence.
It's his ego and smugness that always irritated me - his readiness to take the credit for success and his willingness to publicly humiliate his players when they fail.
This is the attitude of a petulant child, not an adult.
Was just coming on to ask that very questionWatching Efc v Chelsea, bet Everton don't play as bad against us, they are really crap today.
Well UEFA had the balls to deal with a club far mightier than City. AC Milan!!Part of the reason for the ban was that they refused to cooperate with the investigation. Utd 1-0 up. Won’t last thoughGood luck to Manchester City this afternoon. Let's all hope they give United a good thrashing. Not that it will impact on the title race!!
