Why can’t it be a combination of both?

    Yes, that tracking back

    Which he did

Did you actually watch the clip? I have, that's why I can ask why nobody is highlighting Winks and Dier being wholly ineffective in that clip - or the fact Lo Celso actually stops tracking back and never actually starts again when Neto goes past Ndombele

But of course, our Portuguese overlord hasn't said anything bad about Dier or Winks so they must be blameless...

Its more a 80:20 mixture in favour of Levy tbh if we take both men’s pasts into account and that is the only true way of second guessing the future

This is not about being perfect in everything you do but to be strolling? You could argue them being closer and at least trying is what prompted the Wolves player to skew it..infact I think that played a massive role in him missing. Shadowing the player like you are on work experience isn’t going to do anything to disrupt the man and the ball.

not good enough for Tottenham to stroll...it’s getting called out.

He's not "strolling" in the clip

    Lo Celso is

Where's the criticism of Lo Celso?

I realise I'm probably contributing to this discussion more than some of you may like (and I can't pretend to be totally unbiased as I'm a Gooner...) but my honest opinion is that Mourinho has never, ever been the right fit for Spurs.

He hangs his players out to dry in the media, moans to the press when things don't work in his favour, doesn't really develop youth, plays drab football, isn't great at man-management and requires a huge transfer budget to deliver success - which Levy is never likely to provide him with.

For all the plaudits Levy may get, Mourinho was not a shrewd option for the type of rebuild Spurs need, in my opinion. It didn't make sense to appoint him as head coach and it still doesn't.

He is the type of guy who you bring in to deliver silverware for a couple of years and then ****s off. Maybe next season he may deliver something for you (even that's not at a guarantee) but at what cost? Are some of you not concerned at the damage he will leave behind in the process?

The conundrum you are faced with is he is reportedly the 2nd-highest paid football manager/coach in the world. It will cost a fortune to sack both him and his coaching staff anytime soon if **** hits the fan.

I just can't see this working out for either the man or the club.

It was destined to fail from the beginning.

I'm sure that you know this, but I thought I'd better clarify my earlier comment, just in case.
My mention of bias was a quote from the clip that you posted and wasn't directed at you, but the journalist in it.

So quick question: should the club's entire stadium security team be sacked for incompetence bordering on negligence?

I have to ask, as I have a short video that proves it...

Or are we only allowed to scapegoat the one player that our Portuguese overlord has determined deserves to be ostracised from society this week?

    That guy did get sacked.

Ndombele's not being scapegoated. He's not being blamed for our performances by the fans.
He's being criticised for not being fit and looking disinterested in most of the games that he's played in.
He's clearly very talented. We're not seeing anything like the best of him, though.

The fact that five second clip of Ndombele against Wolves is still doing the rounds, and not a single person is criticising Winks or Dier for being similarly ineffective in that very same clip, demonstrates that he is being scapegoated

This of course has nothing to do with our Portuguese overlord not criticising Dier or Winks in recent weeks

Because Dier and Winks attempted to challenge Neto but failed, while Ndombele looked utterly half-arsed, despite just coming on as a sub.

  14. ...which is exactly what Mourinho has openly said.

Where is the credit being given by the Mourinho haters?

Yeah cannot deny that the trophy haul under Levy has been poor.

However our win/lose percentages have never been better - Its coming to 20 years since ENIC took charge and since then we have won 50% of the competitive matches we have played, an increase from 40% of matches in the 20 years before they arrived, so its definitely not been all doom and gloom.

Many of us here have bemoaned our inability to turn up on the big occasion in the last few years, something Jose's teams have never previously been accused of, but have we seen much evidence of big match mentality so far? maybe Tuesday night will change that.

I am still unsure but like others have said all the time he is here he gets my support. Yesterday he made positive changes and in the 2nd half we played as well as we have this calendar year (not saying much). So lets see him take what he has available and do positive things between now and the end of the season, because we all know that the injury situation is terrible, but there are still plenty of good players available to him, so come on Jose coach what you have, pick players in their correct positions and lets just see if we can coax sufficient decent performances out of these players to get some wins and see where that takes us.

I’m the last person who needs invitation to criticise Winks, I think he’s a terrible footballer for this team but as a professional I have no issues with his work rate and conditioning. If Ndombele had Winks’ work rate and application, I wouldn’t have to want to gauge my eyes out watching Winks most weeks as Ndombele would be confining him to the bench.

Ndombele did try to challenge him, but Neto got away because he had the half yard after Winks' failed challenge
Just a reminder, at Inter he won a Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League treble in 2010...and Inter fans didn't warm to him, seeing him as little more than Roberto Mancini with a 50% wage hike

The actual data says that since he has been your manager only City and Liverpool have accumulated more points.
