its just a flu like illness.ffs
just remember SARS , MERS ,Bird Flu etc .
more likely to be this ****ing rain <grr>

The death rate for CV isn't even as high as what occurs during the normal flu season, it just seems way more serious than it is because nobody's ever been vaccinated against this virus and there's nothing yet available to treat it directly, as with the usual flus, which is making the fatality rate seem sort of artificially high. Plus it's also maybe a slightly different type of infection than peoples' immune systems and bodies are typically used to dealing with and have built up a degree of natural resistance to, especially since it's new. Also CV has a much more aggressive transference rate from person to person, I think most of the 'ordinary' flu season viruses have a 1-1 spread rate, meaning that for every one person infected they infect one more person. CV has a 1-3 spread rate so it's very contagious. I think the situation is already out of control and there's no way they can remove this virus from circulation now, it's always going to be there and won't be eradicated ... it is a pandemic but the media and authorities won't use the word because they don't want to cause hysteria and more panic. Ultimately they'll be able to treat it properly and/or preventatively vaccinate against it once the drugs are developed, and it will balance out and probably just become another flu like any other. I just wonder about where CV really came from, nothing like an aggressive new virus to put the fear in people and make them more appreciative of and reliant on the corporate pharmaceutical companies and drugs industry. I suppose part of this is also demonstrating through the media that quarantine and hospital treatment, with drugs, are being effective and reliable at quelling it and also driving into people that a vaccine is coming

It came from the live animal markets in China just like SARS though hopefully the chinese authorities will actually crackdown on the practice this time . The real worry about something like this is not the present virus but if it mutates into a more dangerous strain .

That's the official line about where it came from ...

Next time they'll just punish the doctor who discovers the virus even more

Just knocked £10k off my pension lump sum in 3 days, that I was supposed to be taking in September. Bastard. Not as if the markets can make that back in six months (or it may fall even further) . So the real tragedy here is the Prem title and my pension, in that order. Oh, and some people will die (who probably would have died by annual flu anyway). :emoticon-0106-cryin

As soon as the stock market dropped like a sack of ****, the cynic in me thought someone somewhere is in control of this ****e and going to be making a lot of $$$$$$

You always did look on the bright side....<diva>

OR
We will win it then in about 9 games time they will abandon league and claim it cant stand as all matters werent resolved
