Morning all. Light rain showers and mild, but a strong gusty wind here. Not the weather do be busy outside. A large amount of money was in the council budget to be spent this year on our hamlet. I asked one of the councillors what it was for, but they didn't really know apart from saying it was a rolling program of works to repair the roads and make access to the houses easier for the elderly. Yesterday I noticed that red lines and arrows have appeared on the roads, so maybe something is about to start. Many hamlets in the area have now put the electricity and phone lines underground, so maybe that will happen here. We will wait and see.
Have a good day whatever is happening to you. <ok>

A lot of communes are using the funding/opportunity for fibre lines to also bury all the power lines. The aim is to protect against storm damage, whilst making the infrastructure dependable for decades. My area has been transformed, so many wind turbines and hardly any ugly pylons. It's quite spectacular for such a remote area.

Afternoon all. Last night when I was trying to put the match thread together the site was behaving in a very strange way. Text was coming out as bold and different sizes when I didn't want it to. It took several goes to post it, then the site went down with a message to say that the server wasn't responding. This morning a different message said that there were coding errors on the server, at which point it was beyond my realms of understanding.
An English friend popped in for a cup of tea this morning and we had a good chat about her holiday in Corsica. Like me she wants to go back and explore more, but it might have to wait a bit as she found it very expensive.
Enjoy the rest of your day. <ok>

Friday night football, and I have been following the build up to Chateauroux v Le Havre. Most of it comes through in French which I am happy with, but now and again someone tries to put up some English. A lovely one has just popped up which has made me chuckle. "The actors have just entered the lawn with their cleats on to heat up."
I think I know what he/she means. :emoticon-0100-smile

Morning all. Mild and dry but very windy here today at present, but more rain showers are on the way shortly. I must potter around and do some small jobs today. Probably should be on the garden but it is still too wet underfoot to make that a good idea. I wonder if the forecast is correct for once and I will be able to get out there next Tuesday? As my neighbour tells me the weather will do what it will do, and there is little we can do about it. Have a good day whatever you are doing. <ok>

Morning all. Wet and windy here also, but very mild. One granddaughter has her 14th birthday today, so will be going out later to spend some time with her. I went to an end of term play when she was at the junior school and just behind me were a couple of French mothers. "I think that the girl taking the lead is English" said one. "Really, you wouldn't know it" said the other. Oh what envy! I will never get away with it. Have a great day now that the winning feeling has returned. <ok>
