I think pneumonia is often misreported & mistaken for just “fluid on the lungs” whereas it’s a specific infection than can bring about other conditions like Pneumococcal meningitis. It can also bring about a sepsis response or septic shock.

People who are prone to getting pneumonia usually already have a weakened immune system so will also have an increased risk to Coronavirus.

If you think about those with HIV that have died many suffered with pneumonia or other respiratory infections just prior to death. Thats because when their immune system stops working or becomes weaker a respiratory infection becomes far more likely to occur & harder for the body to fight off.

Those who are more at risk to getting Coronavirus are similarly those with an already weakened immune system Having a pneumococcal vaccination won’t have any affect in strengthening an already weakened immune system against Coronavirus.

Cheers Ben - much appreciated.

There’s talk of closing all schools until the Easter break (like they have in Japan), playing sports events behind closed doors and postponing music concerts to prevent public gatherings according to BBC News.

My lad would be stoked with that. He hates school <laugh> We’re supposed to be going skiing in Northern Italy at Easter, not sure how that’s going to pan out. I don’t fancy catching this particular bug.

The Stock markets are in total meltdown ?
I had a look at stock share prices earlier after a week of carnage.
It's quite interesting when you look at it .

It's interesting that when the whole planet is on the verge of a pandemic, people are more worried about stocks and shares.

No it's just an observation after reading the headlines !
The minimum amount of people dying of flu is 600! Per year.
It can reach up to 10,000 with a bad norovirus !
