Fury's movement too good for Joshua. If Joshua boxed like he did in the second Ruiz fight then it'd make it more interesting but i don't really think Joshua has the punch power to trouble Fury either

AJ was poor in the Ruiz 2 fight, Ruiz in the 2nd AJ fight was not interested, apparantly has not been near the gym since as well. AJ is too slow and ponderous for Fury imo.
Fury was perfect last night. Wilder has power galore so to beat him you have to back him up to negate that power. Fury from the bell went straight forward so Wilder couldnt get off.
Fury, Wilder, AJ are nowhere near the class of Ali, Foreman, Frazier. Tyson, Lewis, Bowe, Holyfield, but it still an exciting division.
I think it's only exciting because we've lowered standards so much. The heavyweight division has been poor for a very long time so now there's some glimmer of hope, we're all over it. Joshua in the Ruiz 2 fight was probably the best he's ever been. Ruiz was way out of shape and unprepared but Joshua fought that fight like Fury fights pretty much every fight (with last night being an exception) and Fury gets nothing but praise. I'm not trying to defend Joshua as I'm not his biggest fan either but he did a great job tactically against a piss poor opponent on the night. Exactly what Fury did last night
Thanks for that Cyc. Credit to Wilder; didn't give up trying to nail Fury. If the towel hadn't been thrown in, there still remained the (remote) possibility of connecting one that mattered. Nice to see Fury on the offensive though. 3rd fight will be interesting (if it happens)
Is there any point in a 3rd fight? For me Fury has beat him twice now. Wilder only ever has a punchers chance against him and that was not enough in the first fight. Rather see one of them fight AJ.
The **** loads of cash is what it's all about. And it'll be really interesting to see what kind of adjustments Wilder can make.

Tyson was great in the build up, the fight and post fight.
The knockdown in the 3rd was the clincher and Wilder was gone. After that it was a matter of time.
I'd be more than happy if Wilder retired. Let's face it, he offers precious little in his fights and his lack of popularity is startling.
Tyson made this fight and Wilder should appreciate how much he was elevated because of this.
He's made his money and he should now exit stage left.
No need for a 3rd fight IMO- I’ve had Fury winning 17 of the 19 rounds they’ve boxed so Deontay should step aside and allow Unification.

Joshua v Fury would be a superb fight and really interesting. I can understand and see everyone’s view points on that one. I’m not sure whether Fury would just overwhelm him with his reach and jab, hurt Joshua in close quarters or whether AJ might be faster and more powerful than people think and take Fury out. I do think AJ has a bit more in his arsenal than Wilder and could give Fury way more to think about- particularly the uppercut.
Fury may as well take the unification- the alternative would be a horrible fight with Dylian Whyte as mandatory?

I've watched it 3 times now and I think you're right. Could have been hospitalised had he continued. The ref didn't stop it because he clearly wanted to give Wilder every chance (eg the timing of the point deduction). Wilder was fighting from pure instinct and bravery. He almost knocked Fury's head off in round 1 and the way Fury took it must have been a bit unsettling. For me it could have gone either way until Wilder was dumped for the first time in his career

It's beginning to look as though fight three will take place. According to Frank Warren, Wilder's co-promoter Shelly Finkel phoned him the next morning to inform him of their decision to trigger the rematch clause. They have 30 days to make it official.

Well I think it's now official. The worst excuse for losing a fight in the history of boxing goes to Deontay Wilder. Who is claiming that he lost because the costume he wore to the ring was too heavy. I think that's it, I have now heard every excuse there is in the sport. Just take your defeat like a man no excuses, better man won on the night end of.
Wilder and his team are a deluded bunch of fools. I can't believe the way Wilder's coach Jay Deas threw Mark Breland under the bus for throwing in the towel. Breland brought up the subject then was overruled by Deas, but when Fury trapped Wilder and smashed him flush in the face, Breland had no option but to sky the towel. And from what I've been reading, nobody but Wilder's team disagreed with Breland's thinking. Both Deas and Wilder wanted the champ to go out on his shield, but they seem to have forgotten that two men gave their lives for the sport in recent times.
The really terrible point came at the bell after the sixth round, when Wilder sat motionless on his stool, with his head collapsed on his chest, while his corner did little more than wash the streams of blood from the boxer's face and shoulders. And the blood that streamed from his mouth into the bucket was sickening. This was the perfect time for Deas to say. "Enough is enough." He should have stopped the fight then and there, but much to his shame ... he sent his charge back into the "war zone."
